Short story here: So his story hit a little close to home. My brother in law (sister's husband) fled Pakistan many many years ago. Needless to say, his father wasn't exactly very accepting of my family or his son's marriage to my sister (we're Latino). His father has always been a thorn in his side nearly his whole life and generally doesn't speak that fondly of him but he never lost respect. He now has two loving families, has an incredible job, and 2 kids. He looks at my father as his own and has always been treated like a son by him. I've known him since I was a kid, he's always been like a brother to me. Honestly, it's sad, and I've always seen a similar conflict in him. In my time, I've seen a lot of father's like his, but I've also seen some incredible ones (his extended family, cousins, etc).

A lot of us Tekken fans here had similar childhood to Arslan, what made me happy that someone from our country was finally able to represent it to the world, it's like all of our dreams came true at the same time, I've been following him since the beginning, kept praying he would achieve it what we couldn't. Though my story is kinda opposite 😅 my mom always dragged me away back home from arcade every time I got late, 😂 it was always quite embarrassing when everybody was there watch our gameplay, she was also a teacher and quite strict, yet my dad was mostly supportive because he knew it would keep me busy so I won't bother anyone. 🤣 They never made me leave my city so I wasn't able to go to any tournament, at the end it was just study that kept us occupied and no Tekken friend. 😥

This is the story of Most gamers in Pakistan. I have been gaming for over 3 decades. Tekken on PS1 was one of my favorite games. Back in my days in 90s there were no major tournaments, otherwise due to my ultra competitive nature I would have surely taken part in these matches at top level and worked hard similar to our local legend A. A. It's good the younger generation has the chance to prove themselves in eSports. I just hope the visa issues gets resolved.
I'm from India and I'm a big fan, his story is truly motivating and he looks like a really humble guy. Despite the ups and downs he never gave up on his dream. Big Respect.
In a culture, where gaming is so much frowned upon, where parents are so much in control, what Arslan did isn’t something small. He achieved something which is almost impossible. What we take for granted, Arslan struggles for that. That’s what makes him so legendary.
Tears. I got tears of pride in my eyes while typing this. God bless Arslan. You're a hero 🌟
Man seeing his story has to be one of the best moments in gaming period. Really he brought back Tekken to the masses again and yes I'm getting overboard with that statement. Again thank you Arslan Ash for not representation for your country but also also giving a future for Pakistani youth and may Allah (swt) give a bright future to arslan ash inshallah.
Goosebumps seriously I have seen him playing since Tekken 6 and he was already famous in the local community but lack of support in es sports there was no way out to international tournaments but hard work always pays off. Can't explain my feelings while watching this unfold story of our champ

Remember the name, The Greatest Tekken Player Of All Time - Arslan Ash from Pakistan 🇵🇰👑
Much respect for brother arshlan ash although he had advantage of having a winning 1 position mentality and being good in studies, but much respect to his struggle to become no.1 player in the world and winning tournaments. 👍
I'm quoting Arslan from his different interviews esp. the podcost with Junaid Akram bhai where Ash said that his reflexes were very fast when he was a teen esp. when he was 12 yrs old boy. He was always a topper of his class but he never got an opportunity to play outside country at that time due to shortage of money, sponsors and Visa issues. Later on, his father passed away that was quite hard time for his family. He continued his studies along with his gaming passion. At the time when he was a CA student, he got an opportunity so he left CA & went after his passion that was takken amidst all kinds of tough challenges. Credit goes to the friends who supported him & the ppl and the group of UAE who sponsored him early in his career when he had no money to travel abroad n play in foreign tournaments. Unfortunately, there was no opportunity for him to go abroad for foreign tournaments when he was so young n talented. He further said that in his early teens, he won in a tournament in Karachi against the best takken players of Pakistan. Prior to that competition, the organizers said that the Winner of the tournament will get money, opportunity and sponsership to travel abroad and play tournament in Japan that time. But they decieved him and didn't gave him those opportunities as they claimed. They just gave him little amount. Ash said that he always wanted to compete abroad but couldn't go for it b'coz there were no sponsors and govt. usually don't invest much apart from Cricket or few other outdoor games. So, all this talent got wasted. I believe, if Arslan got opportunities like the Koreans, Japanese, Americans and the Europeans, at that time when he was young, story would have been completely different from today. However, he already did so much in his 20's, Ma Sha'ALLAH, that ppl across the gaming world n Takken community started to know him. Arslan ! You are a huge inspiration for a lot of young talented ppl across the region. I really wish good for all other talented players so they don't get waste in any field due to lack of opportunities whether they belong to any country or religion. Always support talented ppl around you. At Least, we can encourage n motivate them. Best of Luck ahead, Arslan Bro. Lots of Prayers n Blessings for Everyone in the world.
