Because of Christ’s death, we-the children of God-are his new vessels. WE are the new ark. When you put your faith in Jesus, his spirit dwells within you. Doesn’t matter if you go about your day unaware of it, your feelings don’t validate the truth. And it’s all good to repent for forgetting that. But We don’t need to repent for “forgetting” about the ark of the covenant, because it has been made obsolete by Jesus himself. I realize the point of this song is to emphasize the presence of God, and that’s a good thing. It’s just misleading to literally say, “we are bringing back the ark,” because it really sounds like we’re forgetting the main reason Jesus died on the cross.

Ephesians 4:30-32 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption, Let all bitterness, wrath,anger, clamor, (loud complaint,loud demand) and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another,even as God in Christ forgave you. Without the presence of the Holy Spirit all we have is dead religion. Luke 14:34-35 "Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is neither fit for the land nor for the dunghill, but men throw it out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"

@Daniel Havens. the ark in the old testment represented the presence of GOD. They are saying that the church has lost the presence of GOD (Holy Spirit). Living and doing church the way we want to. Without the presence of God (the ark)

@Patricia Kelly, it means bringing back the presence of Holy Spirit in our lives. So many in the body of Christ live lives the way they want, and a lot of times it becomes dead religion. Without the presence of GOD we have no power to live out the life CHRIST died/rose for us to live. It means a life of surrender, obedience, forgiveness, true, pure worship, not only in song, but also in how we treat people, how we spend our money, relationships, conversations, service in the church, work, job, and school. Matthew 16:24; 7:13,14, Proverbs 18:21:14:12

It means that the old covenant is still on. This means that you be the ark… the vessel that carries the essence of God. You be the body… and God be the head. This is where we walk with God. That God dwells in us. He never left us… it is an everlasting covenant. And it is because of Abraham and Isaac…. I Am that which I am….. I Am you Abraham. And this that I have with you…. I will have with all your descendants. That your children will be my children… and my children be your children. … “ how many” ? What? In the end? ( yes)… count the stars Abraham… your descendants will be more bountiful then the stars in the sky. And just as you walk with God…. So will all of them. The Good shepherd… never leaves you. Most people will wait till death to be with God… and all the time here… never walk a single day with him. Those who seek him will find him… wise men still seek him. And if it’s wisdom you seek… he can still turn 3 wise men… into kings.
