Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We rescue a 1964 Ford F350 flatbed that hasn’t run in 5 years. If we can get it started in the field we’ll haul it back to the shop to make it safe and driveable again. It might even become our new shop truck!

Yes! I'm looking for a 300 6cyl to put in my '77 F100 XLT 4WD... the 351 Cleveland in it currently isn't bad but its thirsty (all time best of 13.8mpg unladen @ 65mph) and really not all that impressive in performance. So buy a 300 and hop it up, sell the 351 running as is, jam the 300 in... now we're talking business! Probably similar performance and superior fuel economy for those long trips, plus the good old stump-puling torque that only a big-ole six can provide.

I bought a 1966 F-100 with the 300 inline 6. It had been sitting behind a barn for more than a decade.. and used for target practice! I brought a new battery, a can of WD-40, and a small piece of emery cloth for the points..(just in case) Put air in the dry rotted tires and less than an hour later, drove it home (with no brakes and a horrendously sloppy 3 on the tree manual) I paid $250.00 for the truck and went thru most of it cleaning it up. You can't kill that 300-6! To this day I still have a king pin (from that truck) in my tool box I use as a drift.

I drove a '65 in high school. And no, it wasn't in the 70's. I graduated in 1991. My dad traded a trailer to it that he built. He said he had three nights' work and $27.00 in it. He sold the bed off the first day home for $90. Put a flatbed and dual wheels on it and painted it with a brush. From twenty feet away she was slick. From five feet she was rougher than a night in jail. I could write a book about that truck but the statute of limitations is not up yet on most of it. Can't wait to see more on this truck.

Growing up we had a 1969 F-350 4x4 that my Dad had bought in the early 70's. It had a 12' flat bed from the factory and had the NAPCO 4x4 as well. Came from the factory with a 360 I believe however after Dad had bought it but before he picked it up the dealer was trying to start it and kept backfiring the engine and trashed the original. So Dad had them a new 390 short block in it. Most of my memories of the truck were when it had a 302 in it. The heads on the 390 started needing work so dad pulled them then needed the truck so pulled the 390 and dropped a running 302 in it. That engine blew on us in the middle of Chicago and Dad and my uncle and some friends pulled it and put in one out of a junk yard in a Kmart parking lot. I loved that truck but unfortunately Dad sold it for scrap before I could buy it from him. Maybe someday I'll be able to find one like it that won't cost me a kidney and half a liver.

This truck needs that 300-6 that you all built. I don't know if the turbo version of that engine has been done yet or not but that's exactly what needs to go into the F-350. Nothing like a 300-6 turbo under the hood pumping out tons of torque. If it were me I would do dual turbos and dual exhaust with a air to water intercooler.

I just watched this episode and it has given me a renewed enthusiasm for my own project. A 75 Ford F350 Ranger Dump 390FE with only 71K original miles. Thanks! The 445 FE would be perfect for this truck.

Mine was like that and the rag joint was wallered out. A new one and adjusting the lash on the box tightened it up good.

So I realize that those old straight sixes were tanks and made alot of torque, but I still can't believe that in 1964 Ford was still installing inline sixes in a one ton dually. I figured it'd had a 390 under the hood.

For very little money you could install a brake power booster, and a dual master cyl and have power drum brakes which work way better. Didn't see the wheel cylinders replaced or the master cylinder.

20:05 That black crossover cut that corner real close to the truck! Now the question is, who had right of way? The Ford was in motion when this occurred. So did black crossover go out of turn? Or did the PowerNation guys do a "Rolling Stop"? Would've been a bad day if they made contact!

I find it quite hilarious that you say the drum brakes on that truck are inadequate when that braking system is what that truck operated on for fifty years. There’s nothing wrong with drum brakes as long as you maintain and adjust everything properly.

I say an nv 4500 for the overdrive it would be so easy to make that four-wheel-drive it's already leaf spring front end don't go crazy jacking it up some 350 gear ratio and some nice 33s it needs to be shortened a little with a nice steel flatbed⛽🇺🇸
