I was with my father when he bought a 1967 Country Squire, NEW! I was only 6 Y/O and STILL the sales guys let me sit in ALL of the cars in the showroom - INCLUDING the FOUR DOOR Thunderbird!!! (I reeeealy wanted my dad to buy THAT!). Lots of memories in our big blue "woodie" wagon though. Bring back actual wagons!

5:20 The sedan model of this Ford was built in Brazil and there is a interesting anecdote about the hubcaps. One of the factory executives was tired of having to stop the car to grab the hubcaps that keep flying off, so one day he came to work fuming in frustration. He stoped by the engineering department and dropped a hubcap at the desk of the chief engineer and said: "fix this shit". So the next model year had hubcaps less prone to flying off the car while driving.

Yes I've seen this car before on your show.. I myself still have my parents 1968 Ford Custom 500 Ranch Wagon with the three on the tree manual transmission. Been in the family since brand new, now it's got a patina finish on it because it's 54 years old but still nothing's changed on it still all original. Good luck with this one, I like the fact that it's only one of them.

I can’t believe he put this, of all of his cars, up for sale. I had a 1968. I took the dual exhaust off of my 1967 Galaxie 4-door hardtop with 4V390: which had dual exhaust and put it under my Squire. It was a bear getting around the spare tire lump on the right rear and the gas tank on the left rear. But worth it, My rear glass was a pain also. The ultimate solution would be to run bigger gauge cable to the motor, and keep the guides clean and lubed. The dual action tailgate on mine was never an issue though. Good grief I miss that car.

Since this is a "one of one", but has been modified.. If I had the money to buy it, A restoration back to stock would be my move. (Normally, I'm not for restoring but rather preserving a "one of one"), But since strict preservation is now out of the picture, a full restoration is in order here.

My Father bought a Lime Green "67 Country Squire wagon brand new in "67 . I was only 7 yrs old and we took it from Calif. thru Ariz.to 4 corners then to Colorado Springs on Vacation. It was his first of only 2 brand new cars he ever bought . I just found old Pics. of the wagon at the Grand Canyon in "67... What a wagon , ours had a 390 like all the others . Not a 428

Funny how we remember cars we had as kids. I was also just 7 when my family got a new lime green 68 Ford Ranch Wagon (maybe just a Cdn Ford model, base, without 'woodie' trim) and yes, we had some memorable vacations too. Great to see these old vids bring back memories.

I had a teacher who owned one like this. They owned property in Canada and the family would drive there from Wisconsin every summer. Unknown to my teacher his son and the sons buddies used the car and someone stashed a baggie of marijuana in the car. When they crossed the border at Sault Saint Marie the border patrol found the sizable stash. The car was impounded and my teacher had some tall talking to do to get out of that one. It took him quite a while to get his ‘67 Country Squire returned.

One of the most successful drug runners in U.S. history used a 73 Country Squire Wagon to transport his drugs. He run a "Logistics company" on paper but in reality he ran drugs from Kansas City/ Springfield Missouri to St. Louis, He lowered his cargo floor 2" and builta double high 2x4 wooden platform that he could hide up to 500 lbs of drugs, he ran that thing up for 30 years and never got caught, The ONLY reason anyone knows is because after he retired he became a consultant for the DEA, he wasn't even on there radar because he kept his books and bank accounts really well.

I just watched the old Gone in 60 Seconds again and in one scene theres this exact car sitting in the car wash driveway and i thought the badge on the front guard was a 428 one and I knew the one of one was same color etc but now looking at this it seems all motors came with the same style badge

Seems odd, drums in front. Especially a big block wagon ? Had a 67 XL coupe with factory front discs. Thought they were standard. Oh well, what a sweet piece, cheers to the new owner... Dad had a 67 Country Sedan. The rear window tracks and mechanism need a a little lube.

These are power windows, and the motor is the culprit. A Country Sedan, being the lower trim level, most likely would not have been available with power windows.

About 400 hp, best time at the track was 13.79 with bad traction, was quick and fun to drive. Miss it but finance forced sale....*

These classic wagons and vans also are getting POPULAR again, I own a classic dealership in Northwest Arizona and the classic and wagons are by far my most wanted car to find, my daughter works at an RV Campsite and she said she's noticed more and more of the little 16'-22' being towed by Classic Wagons and Vans. With the economy is the tank thanks to the Democrats people no longer have the money to go to Disney or fly to Mexico, Hawaii or The Caribbean for vacation with the family so they are buying a classic Wagon/Van and a small camper and hitting the road like they did in the 50's- mid 80's for pennies on the dollar and seeing the U.S. again.
