Oli said this song is his favorite BMTH song ever. The two bands are close friends, and working with them made him extra motivated singing. You can really tell, as he's more intense here than he's been in a while imo.
Great reaction. BMTH and BABYMETAL are very good friends since meeting at a festival about 5 years ago where Olly took them under his wing a bit to make them feel welcomed and comfortable in a place that is largely male dominated. They hang out back stage whenever they meet at festivals ever since and last year BABYMETAL invited BMTH to open for them in a series of their concerts in Japan.

As I haven't seen any comment about it here, your video game feel might be because Mick Gordon, who wrote the Doom and Wolfenstein soundtrack(s), had a big hand in producing the song (the EP?). Babymetal writer/producer MK-Metal, aka Mikii Watanabe, and his team are credited for writing the chorus and the lyrics for their verses.

Su wrote her own lyrics for this song, when she was writing it in english oli asked her to do a verse in japanese so it doesn’t only appeal to the western region

From one Adelaideian to another: great reaction mate! I can only echo what Grington commented about BM. If you like the contrast/mix between the clean vocals of Su and the heavy music, that's basically what you're getting with BM. I'd love to see you check out some more of their stuff in future. I'm not a BMTH fan (not because I don't like them, just because I haven't looked in to them so far), but I love BABYMETAL, and I'm very grateful to BMTH for how much room they have given them in this awesome song. And I guess they won't regret it. Please check out more BABYMETAL, if you enjoy this melodic chorus, I'm sure you'll find at least some songs in their catalogue that you like.
When someone has this kind of reaction to this song (wich I loved) I always wait for the "is this what you want?" part to see people response
