That would be awesome but Cricut has no incentive to do that because they would lose their monthly subscribers fees.

I really like the channel and how you share updates but I was surprised to see the first few steps. It would be a good idea to educate followers to make sure they work with public domain images. Some of those you showed on Google were not free to take as a screenshot. As an artist, I was already aware that this can happen but it's really discouraging to see how it's being taught step by step. I'm just hoping I can offer some perspective and protect artists' work.

So, it is a cool tool, but...the update really did a number on DS. Only way I could upload anything to DS this weekend required me to change to Beta even though I did not want to be there. Regular DS would not allow any uploads of files. I wish Cricut would do better testing before release of updates. Not sure how often I would use this new update but nice to have I suppose.

I’m happy to see this feature. And, I do agree with the people who are making the point that membership in any programme always gives you more than a free version. If you want the extra bells and whistles you have to have a membership. My question is, will this work with designs you have previously uploaded? Or, do you have to go back and upload them a second time?

I think it is great they are adding special features for access members!! It does cost money to have it!! I think this is AWESOME that we have the ability to do this!!

It’s crazy that people hate on Cricut bc they put the easier option behind a pay wall. I can do everything they do with a subscription with my Cricut it just takes extra steps and i cant use the thousands of images they have on there. But i upload my own and I haven’t been told there’s a limit to the uploads yet. And i do layers but it takes extra steps to get it done. What they are selling is an easier, faster way to do it and that’s it. If you don’t want to put in more time then ok but everything is available to you if you look for the how to 😀. None of the big channels are showing you how to do it for free, i had to really search but I found a tutorial on how to do layers.

I have access which is fine. I prefer to use access for the discount and to access svgs that I would have to pay for if I didn’t have access. But then I also have an app called SVG trace and a creative fabrica subscription which can do the same things - provide me svgs/ png images and turn the images into svgs or they are already svgs anyways. Canva can convert images into svgs too. But that feature isn’t the best I’ve tried it. It’s more what is worth it vs what’s not. I like the fact that cricut added it to desktop namely bc I can’t figure out the iOS version 😅… for the life of me. So I’m gonna do whatever I can to make my life easier whether I have access or not because it comes down to one thing - Cricut Design Space will still have bugs 💁🏼‍♀️

What is the difference between taking a screenshot of an image vs. saving it onto your device? Does one have better quality than the other? Please advise. Thank you!

I do screen shots all the time and crop with no problems. I haven’t seen a difference. But what I wud do is look for HD images so that when you do import it it’s clear and easier to use the tool to remove what you don’t want.

Súper random question. Because of warranty I got my cricut replace and they deactivate the old one BUT I think I cannot access all the material settings I created it. Does anyone know how can I access, I don’t remember all and it took me a lot of testing. Thank you!,

This is great news because having to use my tablet to do this was cumbersome.

You’re paying for a butt ton of images and making the steps easier but not the thing itself. You can do everything with the Cricut without using the subscription. I do layers and use my own images all the time. You just have to do extra steps and clean the images up yourself but it’s pretty easy once you learn the process. Granted they should have tutorials for these but they want you to buy the sub bc they wudnt make any more money. Now, i actually may pay for DS.

For me, when I bought mine, I thought that the membership just gave me access to a lot more images for free. I did not, until this moment, realize I wouldn't have access to all the features of the machine - what it can actually do. I am only an occasional hobbyist with Cricut, so paying an extra $120+ per year is not worth it to me. I am fine with just buying the actual images that I want...that makes more financial sense for me. I am very disappointed to now find out that it's actually the capabilities of my machine I don't have access to. They aren't cheap machines...I've spent almost $400. Even without membership, people should at least be able to fully use all the features of the machines themselves. It's disappointing.

Ditto - purchased my machine without any indication that a subscription would be required. I am really tired of how functionally limited the Cricut machines are and the insistence that we should pay for a subscription to widen that functionality. Paying to access basic functionality is wrong on so many levels. What a rort.

They still need to fix all the “broken” things; then roll out new features/functions. I’m like most other commenters, these new functions should be free to the machine owner. I get the images on access being chargeable. But not the functions.

No, no, it is not. This option should have always been available, or they should let other software that can do this run the cricut. This is more cricut putting stuff behind a pay wall for a machine that is already expensive.

You don’t need this feature to do layers! I do them all the time but it takes extra steps to do. This just makes it easier for people who pay for the subscription

They're not listening, they just keep adding new crap when the old crap still doesn't work. Smoke and mirrors like they've always done. "Let's get him excited about all these new features and they'll forget that the software doesn't work well enough to use any of them, AND let's charge them for it!" Absolutely ridiculous! This is not a bonus, this is a design feature that we should not have to pay extra for. The god-awful amount of money we've all spent with this company and they still want to nickel and dime us. And they wonder why we are all leaving.

It needs to be a free feature NOT a paid feature. Bad Cricut

Great feature. However, leave it to the company that charges $12.00 for 18 inches of vinyl to add a tool to their mediocre software and then force people to subscribe to use it. Like we haven't already invested tons of money for their products. Yea MGL! Boo Cricut........
