She's typical of my grandmother's generation.- the salt of the earth, with hearts of gold. We were honoured to have them

I heard a banshee around two years ago in the field next to my house (I'm in West Clare). I was just outside my back door one night, cleaning a pair of boots, when I heard her. The sound made my skin crawl. I got so scared I ran into the house, locked the door and didn't venture out again until the following morning. It really gave me a fright. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

My grandfather was Irish and we have always had experiences in our family before anyone passes away..I always hear 3 knocks on my door before we lose someone in our family.. Happens every time!

I didn’t believe in these until my then 8 year old son came downstairs one day and said “ Mum, mum, I heard a woman screaming. She was screaming all night. Didn’t you hear her?” I hadn’t. Didn’t think of a banshee until Literally 5 minutes later I got a call from my brother who said ‘Miriam ,the doctors have said there’s nothing more that can be done for mum and we should come and say our goodbyes’. Mum had a long term condition and had been in and out of hospital all my life so we didn’t know it was that serious this time. Two weeks after she passed my son came out of school and said he saw my mum. I was sceptical and asked if she was scary etc - he looked at me matter of factly and said ‘no, she was just standing in the corner of the canteen smiling at me’ what he didn’t know was that she’d often told me her favourite part of our childhood had been volunteering one morning a week in the canteen. My son is on the autism spectrum and I wonder if that has heightened his senses.

Love these stories!✨❤️✨I heard a banshee cry out a blood curdling cry at my door one night in California, the next day my cat died and the owners son passed away at a very young age (we were renting the place from them).

Love these stories. So happy to find this. I live in a special place in Montana where the veil must be thin and it turns out we live very close to a ley line. I have nature spirits , as I call them , in my house and in my yard. I accidentally disturbed a fairy highway once. I felt the anger and saw a flash of red. I apologized and left something behind and tried to undo what I did. That was a year ago. So hopefully the fairy isn't angry! I have also seen little people 2 feet tall with pointy red hats. That was a long time ago. They live here in this valley I call home. Or here in another dimension. I have mostly Irish in me but I am also English and Scottish amongst some other northern European Scandinavian blood. A european mutt like many of us here in Montana. These stories help me not feel so crazy !

Present them with offerings of food and drink. They usually only like foods from that area they live in, not rice for example. They love a bit of alcohol now and then, red or white wine is a good choice. Be generous and they'll appreciate it.

My grandfather was Irish, worked in the coal mines in the early 90's, was 6 feet tall and not one to scare easily. He always reminisced about the encounter he had with a black shadowy female in the fields whose scream gave him goosebumps to that very day. Its been over 25 years since he passed away, but I always found the tale to be both captivating & terrifying.

I'm in New Zealand and love hearing these stories! 🥰

Wow, I'm from NZ as well. I teach several courses on my websites and channel on connecting with fairy beings with videos filmed in New Zealand and have also published several books that mention some NZ connections through them too. Great to see how many others from here.

A few years ago for a few nights in a row I couldn’t sleep - just could not sleep at all. Tossing and turning trying to sleep and couldn’t. Going to school so so tired. I’d go out to the bathroom at night and run back to bed because I felt someone was watching me. Then on about night 5 of this at about 4am I heard a scream. The most chilling, scariest, loudest scream I ever heard in my life. The scream is indescribable , it’s bone piercing, it’s crazy but I felt I could watch the scream travel to me. I know it makes no sense but her scream is just so indescribable, just terrifying I froze on the spot scared to move. And then I slept. I remember saying it to my family the next morning no one else heard it- said it must be a dream. Then in the afternoon we found out our cousin was dead - suicide

I believe you, as I've heard her also..I broke out in a cold sweat with fear..I was on my own in the house at night..and sure enough, my Dads first cousin died..

God help us I fear I'll die of grief from missing my beloved Mama and Granny too..the lovely lilt and the stories RIP

I heard it twice and a wicked bad smell after , the sound , is hard to explain but I was the only one that heard it ,,, 3 days from hearing it , both my uncle and grandmother died, but obviously separate, it didn't really hit me till the second time,,, it felt like an aminal in pain but not really hard to explain I haven't heard anything like it

Banshees or Beansidhe. Back in 1987 or 1988 I was walking down the road at night with two Mikes....Mike Hamlin and Mike Reed. We hadn't gone too far down the road when up at the top of the trees we heard this blood curdling cry. It warbled in a owl-like way for a few seconds and then morphed into a female voice screaming "MIKE!" I stood there in amazement, but when I turned around both Mikes were gone! I was buzzing with excitement but realized I was alone in the dark on the side of Doyal rd....so I finally ran back to the house. When I got there both mikes were pacing around the front yard saying "What the fuck was that?" We all agreed it had to be a Banshee. But they say if a Banshee calls your name you will die soon. Well I'm happy to report both Mikes are still alive and well today. So what did it mean? One Mike was threatened by a fellow student who got him alone and said something creepy like "I have a gun under my seat." and "Would anyone miss you if you just never came home?" Which is creepy...but he didn't do anything. So I'm not sure if Mike was in danger or not? But maybe it was a warning? The other Mike would jump on the hood of a friends moving car (she didn't know) and when she put on the breaks he went surfing face first in the gravel. He came pretty close to death that night...but still lived. So maybe the Banshee doesn't always warn of certain death? After these incidents I had gone alone in my grandma's forest at night and cast a magick circle. After I got the circle of protection up I sat and stared into the candle light. Right as I began to break the circle at the end of the ritual....a singing/ crying female voice started singing in a language that I didn't understand. I was so terrified by the sound that I could barely move. And I noticed that my faithful dog (who always stayed close) had refused to follow me into the woods this time. After this singing/ crying had stopped I quickly picked up my ritual items and headed out of the woods. There at the corner of the woods was my dog "Bear" sitting patiently for me to leave the woods. I felt so much better to see him and get close to him. But as I approached he began to cry and back away from me. I noticed he was looking above my head. I looked up and seen nothing. Could the dog see something I couldn't? Needless to say I ran home at this point. It wasn't long after this incident my uncle Tivis died in Tennessee.

@@laetitialogan2017 hello,yes my mother told me never look out the window to see the beansidhe ,my mother has second sight and I seem to have the sight but not as much as my mother , though last year I was on my way home,it was a dark, late February evening ,I always walk the same route,I'd left my mother's ,it was about 7 in the evening ,as I walked along the frosty foot path I saw a cat leap at me , illuminated by the street light above it, ,but I could see through the cat? ,it looked kind of orangey probably because of the street light ,then as it was leaping towards me in mid air it just vanished ! it was about ten feet away,as I drew nearer to where the cat had appeared,I saw on the side of the footpath a dead frost covered black cat ,I assumed it had been hit by a car ,and thrown onto the footpath from thr roadside,well I know animals have souls ,and I've also heard my mother's cat crying to come in to the kitchen but it's dead,,!

My friend heard girls laughing at the side of his house 1 night he looked out told them te get the fuck.. but didn see anybody there so lyed back down heard the same but bit more screaming said he left it for about 30 mins but curriosity got te him. When he looked out again there was a small white figure flooting across the road crying it went towards a side garden and dissapered. His father died 2 days later very true story

Walking in a park with my granny I was 12 at the time and she found a comb I told her Granny DO NOT TOUCH THAT few seconds later I heard a whimper or a cry from a distance I took my granny hand and we just bolted out of their I was like YEET my granny wanted to know why I was so scared Then I said this to her Granny I encountered a banshee do not walk in that park again

I’m Irish American and me and my mom just heard a banshee scream a month apart at night full moon. My dogs been crying breaking his chain. You watch to much Lord of the rings and such man. Lay off reading the fantasy books till you can get a handle on what's reality and what is fiction. You can not kill a spirit whatsoever! Lord Jesus always protects me from such things. He has since my birth and still in my present adulthood.
