Bridge of Orchy to Crianlarich

All roads lead to Crianlarich! It's the half-way point on the West Highland Way. The road up from Glasgow splits to provide routes to Stirling, Oban and Fort William. The railway similarly splits between the line to Oban and the line to Fort William.
We caught the morning CityLink coach from Crianlarich to Bridge of Orchy. The coach had travelled from Glasgow and was on its way to Uig on the Isle of Skye - but was on time. It's best to book online, in advance, in case the coach is full. This can happen in the spring/summer season.
A steady walk back along to Crianlarich, with a good lunch stop at the famous Green Welly Stop in the village of Tyndrum. This is always busy, and caters for passing motorists and the many tour coaches - but the food was very good and the service excellent.
It's a tough final couple of miles through the forest before you get to the Crianlarich crossroads; densely wooded at time, and lots of ups and downs when weariness is starting to set in. The village of Crianlarich meant dinner awaited us at the Crianlarich Hotel, but the nearby Rod and Reel pub is also excellent - very good real ale, and hearty dinners.

Glad you enjoyed it and you also had fabulous weather too. My friends and I have walked the WHW a dozen times now and it always impresses you. Its a great way to see the surrounding area and yes, I agree. The food, drinks and company are always first class in the Rod and Reel. Enjoy!!
