Having watched the 1981 masterpiece 3 times, I initially felt that this version was completely unnecessary. However, after watching a few reviews I'm starting to think I should see it.
I love this film, it's a great story with great visuals. I love when you watch a film and get transported to a certain time or even a certain feeling within. I know this is something that most can experience. I have loved this story since I read the book and watched the mini-series with Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews. Brideshead has a very strong cast, Ben Whishaw is great as Sebastian...but Matthew Goode is absolutely beautiful as Charles Ryder....to me this is a great reason to see this film and I am happy that you chose to cover it. Thanks for the great review!
It's also an important piece of English lit, obviously.
Brilliant cast xxx
Brilliant film xxxxx
I am sorry but despite the wonderful cast this does not compare to the 1981 series.
