    I'am shock in this era there's still country without proper Toilet. In my country (Indonesia) we have proper public Toilet even in the rural area, at least every home have ones Toilet and I'am have two toilet just for 3 people. In my hometown (rural area with no public transportation) every household have one Toilet with cheapest water wages from spring mountain. No one going to the river nowadays, as I remember last time my village people going to the river for their needs is in early 2.000s, it's 20 years ago.

Right next to the area of the beach where tourists board boats to chase dolphins. Most disgusting thing I've seen in a long time.

    14:08 did he really say that or am I misunderstanding? They dry human waste for 1.5 years creating human manure. They than crush it, compress it into balls with glue, and give it to children to play with. He’s also holding these things in his hands… I’m going to assume he doesn’t know what he’s saying since English doesn’t seem like his first language

    So, dried dung is used in many cultures for various things, including coating food baskets or trays. I've seen this in Africa, for example. Bc once the bacteria dies, the material is no longer dirty ‐ it's just a type of dirt... He's saying they make those manure-glue balls to (14:22) _"Give this __-one-__ to the children, so that they can play and [mentally get past the] social taboo that the people [have:] 'How can we touch the human waste?!'"_

  • @dyawr

    @dyawr

    Ай бұрын

    Bc one of the reasons that toilets aren't that popular is bc of cultural ideas of cleanliness, that say that having human waste in your home, having to handle it periodically & living with it essentially, is gross and impure - so its better to relieve yourself away from your house & don't be near such things more than you have to. It's also related to the caste system, where only ppl from the lowest caste do such activities as cleaning wasterooms & ppl think of them as impure bc of that... so it's aiming to break a certain taboo around the subject of waste & (implicitly) toilet use/upkeep.
