Two stars together , a brilliant job done. Well done lads👍👍👍
KCs jeans are amazing, they've reach the tipping point where they're now more silicone than denim!
I love watching these videos, proper skill and care taken in the craft👌🏻plus that father and son relationship is pure gold! Outstanding
This video came just in time I have to change course that weep holes are on above services boxes and that timber that you have used instead of strong boys is just the job for a small job......... top man
I was always taught to do the perps first and cut them in, then do the beds and cut the excess off afterwards when doing weather struck pointing. It makes life a lot easier and quicker in the long run 👍🏻
Excellent work Stu. Every time I watch your videos, you (and KC ) make it look so easy yet I’ve tried it and I know it’s hard. Keep up the good work and best of luck.

Great to see KC is back the great duo back together aka Morecambe n ‘ Wise brick on lads..
Look at that old schools support 👌 nice, know the materials and how they move is the key to speed. Looking at KC's trousers he is definitely the mastic king.

@@tonyhussey3610 most people will use a "strong boy" on top of a acro ( that's what I personally use on my stone work jobs and have always followed through the idea to brick work) but with brickwork the baton screwed into the upper corse looks like a dream nothing in the way.
Great job! I got some good pointers from your video before replacing the steel lintel in my fireplace.
Awesome work Stu, keep the videos coming 👍
Thank you , Stu and KC ,
Done a few of those jobs in my time nicely done lads

Those arbotech saws are brilliant finest tool out for removing brickwork
Great job and a really tidy finish
Million times better looking, wall no longer supported by a PVC door frame and KC even gave the door a bit of a spruce up at the end. It’s nice to see someone taking pride in their work 👍
Really great job! Thank you
Love Hesse type of vids! Keep it up
Hello ways this nifty bit of kit eh. Thanks for the vid big man. Father son ftw
Nice tidy job you two, looks grand.👍
Nice video nice idea with the wooden support vs Akro props giving you more room to work.
Good job guys!
Thanks so much for sharing!!!!
Your spot on stu
Another great job you two
What a great team thanks for another great video
That is top notch job fellas
I wondered what the piece of timber was for. Nice one.
Lovely job.
Awsome work you do man. I'm an apprentice for a bricklaying union. Where can I find the tools used in the beginning of the video; to take out the bricks??
بارك الله بيك اخي
Great video, thanks for showing how it's done. Was the timber above to prevent the bricks from dropping down, it looks like you fixed with screws ?
Nicely done fellas!👍
Can't measure .com 😁😁😁 you can't not love KC 👍 great video Stu & KC
Thank you
Good job lads 👍
Buen trabajo de calidad.
Hey stew. Does the wood 2x4 really help to support bricks above? I've never tried that one

Well done .I love to see a job done well.Was your dad doing the long pointing before doing the down joints? I was always taught do the down strikes before the long ones ,I used to when i did a lot of pointing of walls.
Is the wood screwed into each brick? How do you deal with all the holes when you remove the wood? What kinda screws did you use? Concrete screws with out plugs? and what sort of length? I'm looking at changing the lintel above my shed door, the way you guys did looks perfect for me.

What did you use with the wood piece as support on top the lintel? (Screws?) How did it support upper courses of bricks?

Another good job, chaps. A question (as I’m a novice) - are there standard size/load lintels for over doors or do you have to get one especially sized up for each job? Thanks in advance.
@thebosegames1912

Paul Lilly I cant speak for the UK folks, but here in Australia our lintels just have to be 300mm longer than the window. Eg: A 2400 lintel would be used for a 2100 window. Just install it with a 150 overlap on either side.

When I lived and worked in the UK I just bought standard sized ones at the builders merchants. Catnic lintels for cavity walls over doors and windows.
Another John Wayne builder put right! 👍. Hope theyre watching they'll know how to do it now 😀😀
Rocking it KC 👌👍👍👍🏴
What are the BB shaped pellets from on the Lintel surface
Buen trabajo..desde Ecuador
When battening over the opening where do you drill the holes 🧱??
What was the music when you where doing the first course over the lintel sounded like link ray
Hi stu I have a 3 meter window that need a lintel replacement as the concrete lintel is bending coursing the brick mortar to split letting water in above . The lintel is 100 x 65 x 3300 would like it replaced with steel lintel what would you recommend John
Hola stu one question 😁 para que sirven esas piezas de plástico que pones en algunas juntas de los ladrillos? Son por la dilatación? Un saludo

What were all those beads? Some type of insulation?
Very tidy job 👍
Will do for another 10 year lol 👍🏻 your dad is funny. 😎👍🏻
The lintel holds up the exterior course of bricks. But what supports the inside course??
Great video guys, just one question how did that wood batten hold up the that huge hole🤔

Wow best work .I'm work tiles marbal
Good job. What's the main reason you get water running through the cavity, with enough volume that it starts to leak through?
@thetessellater9163
4 жыл бұрын
In driving rain, the bricks will soak through, leading to water running down the inside face of the outer leaf - hence the cavity tray. The same reason to leave a small air gap cavity when installing insulation, but some modern insulation can cope without the gap, as its hydrophobic - doesn't wet.
What saw do you use.
Stu, any idea what bricks they are? They look identical to mine and none of the merchants seem to match them correctly. Love the channel by the way 👍🏼

@@Stucrompton1 thanks for reply mate. 👍 Do you scrape a bit on and then start laying. I know some brickies who prefer to wait until the mud goes off before they crack on.
Is that cutting blade your using something new?First time I've seen it on here

If I may ask: why did you put that plastic vent thing in?

👍💯
What the line used for?
well done, i need a job done in West Aussie...i suppose that's a bit too far for a quote?
2 questions. 1 what is that tool for removing mortar! 2. what does the bit of wood do?
@superiorbeing95
4 жыл бұрын
The wood just holds up the triangle of bricks above the window, the rest of the walls load is already spread either side of the window, if it weren't the wood would give way quite quickly.
@pauldolton9118
4 жыл бұрын
@@superiorbeing95 thank you. So the same as acros with a boy mate attachment. I didn't think the wood would be strong enough
@superiorbeing95
4 жыл бұрын
@@pauldolton9118 The wood doesn't have to take all the weight of that triangle of bricks, some of the weight is transferred in tension to the bricks to the side and above so it just needs to help out a bit, there would be a percentage figure some boffin would know.
