Why not just use acrow props instead of just hoping that the house isnt going to fall down half way through the job?

Hey Ryan, I just found your channel and you do some amazing work, and you look like you're really knowledgeable about the stone and bricklaying side of homes. Since you come off as somebody with good knowledge about your craft, I had a question for you that you may have answered in another video but I can't find if you have or not. but my question is, can you lay new brick or stone over existing stone? I bought a house that has stone around it but I don't like it, (I think its called a giraffe style stone pattern) and I was wondering if I could have a new type and pattern of stone laid over it. thanks Ryan!

Excellent work as always brother:), Question? Do you have any videos on how to do a stone installation were there is not enough brick ties? Meaning how would you support the existing brick wall while installing the stone like in this video.

Drill 1/4 inch holes about 3 feet apart along the length of the wall to be removed. Install 6 inch structural screws. Try to hit as many studs as possible as you lay out your hole .Then you can cut out the brick below. After the work below is completed remove the structural screws and fill the holes with matching cement or masonry caulking. You can reuse the same screws

That corner CMU has a nasty crack in it. Yet, your placing new stone on it. Would it not make sense to replace those 2 CMUs with the crack, before building the new stone wall?

16" x 16" is code spacing for brick ties, looks like whoever the bricklayer was had no clue what a tie was.

I have a question sir. Does the house have to have different foundations designs or house structure designs to accommodate Rock vs. Bricks.

  • @zorot3876

No, it would be a pathetic foundation that could not cope with the extra weight of stone compared to brick.

Nice makeover, however I feel that the stone should've been 1/2to 3/4 lip from the bricks. Would've look even better. Great work as always

Weird construction I can’t see any brick ties. And as for cutting out such a big section of brickwork without strong boys - I can’t see any builder doing that in the UK
