@Bgseigel Those are indeed Brian's vocals for don't Talk, but rather than intending them to be background vocals in that song, Brian multi-layered his voice and played it back in the studio to give the Wrecking Crew an idea of how he wanted the instrumental track to sound.

8 years after the fact, a 'Thank You' to Yaggsionhimen for taking the effort to upload these! As other posters have said, it's truly one of the most complete and accurate accounts of Brian Wilson's life...up to 1999. Fortunately, some of his happiest years were still to come, with SMiLE being completed and performed so won(won, won)derfully. If anyone ever finds someplace to purchase a DVD of this (1999 A&E Biography, 'Brian Wilson: A Beach Boy's Tale') please post here (I've only found used VHS cassettes for sale). Thanks!

i kind of noticed that Brian seemed more like Brian after the "recreational" drugs when you'd see him in interviews in the late 70s during Brian is Back period than he does today. I totally agree that the whole Landy period / psychiatric drugs seems like it did more to mess him up than anything else. With a guy like Landy taking over his brother's life no wonder Dennis couldn't stick with a rehab center
@bossaroo17 жыл бұрын
they said that once they gave Brian thorazine, he was never the same. not sure if they did electro-shock on him, but it wouldn't surprise me. i would certainly blame all the psychiatric medication more than the recreational drugs.

Eugene Landy pumped Brian full of so many "medications". It is believed Brian developed Tardive Dyskinesia sometime in the 80's. Brian first got treatment from Landy in 1975 and it actually did some good. Check out footage/interviews of Brian from 76. He seems to be doing pretty well. Landy and Brian parted ways around this time (1976). Brian got worse. Check out interviews from 1978-1980. Then he got back together with Landy in 1982, and that's when Landy really got a hold of him with his medications and extreme sheltering from family and friends. You really start to see a drastic mental and physical transformation at this point.
