Honestly Brian Shaw should go to some of the amateur or state tourneys. Just get some ready/go practices with other people learning or with some experience.

This is after a couple months of dedicated training. He is already getting technique down. Love how the thumbnail says “Brian Shaw has FINALLY leveled up” like he’s been at this for a long time. 😂😂😂😂 Derek might not be a top 10 guy but give him some credit he knows how to pull. The way you’re talking sounds like Brian has been doing this for a year. 😂. Brian is smart. He will make the best decisions for him for his path in arm wrestling. He is surrounding himself with the right people. He wants to work with Brzenk so that’s what I want to see.

Did anyone actually watch Brians video ? I keep seeing all these videos popping up about how he destroyed Derick and he’s gotten so much better. Brians video didn’t prove anything they were practicing if you could even call it that. They weren’t even close to real matches they kept telling him not to explode at the start so I don’t think we learned anything from his 20 minute clip he posted.

Dunno why people are so surprised, he is the most accomplished strongman in history, and he was well known for having the best grip and training grip on top of that, it was expected he would demolish everyone with very little training

I think Brian would learn 100x more from competing in local / low level tournaments; he could get pulls in against lots of opponents and that will give him experience at a much accelerated rate. If he goes up against one decent / profiled named opponent he just gets such limited experience at this time. But, if he had to face just one guy i would choose The Whisperer. Also, i think at this time if he competes he needs to use his size and power to quickly end matches as his peak power should beat most smaller and not vastly experienced opponents. If he goes slower it gives his opponents time to fatigue those small arm-wrestling specific muscles that he hasn't built up high level conditioning in yet.

Different topic Armwrestling may change bringing Anatoly to sport he has the best bone structure and insane strength for his weight division to even heavyweights thoughts on this pradeep?

It's practice/teaching so no one is giving their 100%. That being said, Brian wasn't even sweating or out of breath after the session. His endurance is gonna be insane together with that power.

I've been thinking the same thing as far as Brian and Derek. I feel like that would be a great 1st match.

He probably already had a few matches with Derek Smith. And they both already know their levels. I think it is too soon for a high-calibre opponent. Entering a local tournament does sound like a good idea for now. A year later hopefully he can be much improved from right now if he keeps at it seriously.

I like to see Brian Shaw vs Eric Spoto, Eric has some good arm wrestling experience, is a massive strong guy, I think this match up can determine where Brian Shaw is at with arm wrestling, if Brian can't hang with Eric, he has a long way to go, or if he is close to Spoto or beating him, this would be good sign for Brian arm wrestling more top tier pro arm wrestlers.

I’m surprised we haven’t seen Vrezh Sedrakyan at any East vs West events? Vrezh has been a beast at tournaments & able to hang with larger/ heavier elite pullers like prime Devon on both his right & left.

Brian vs Larry? Larry more experience (but not professional armwrestler) and Brian stronger, could be interesting. Also, I think it will motivate Brian no matter the result. If he wins, its already big boost after knowing that Larry has put quite a bit of training to armwrestling, and is very strong guy in general. But even if Brian loses, it will show him how much progress Larry made with some training, as Larry was also totally noobie in armwrestling - so strength to strength, Brian should win. If Larry dismantles Brian totally, it should motivate Brian that he can achieve similar level in not that long time too. Also such a match is amazing promotion event for armwrestling + if Brian loses now, it is almost automatical rematch with huge viewer count guaranteed. But probably we would have to hive larry like 4 months to focus on armwrestling before this match, and I think he is involved in face slapping now.

Brian should just go from Club to Club and armwrestle to gain table Experience.

To be fair, I think very few things can demotivate Brian Shaw. Keep in mind that he has a long career with ups and downs behind him and has learned to be realistic. A guy like Brian Shaw is in it for the long run and will not be scared off when taking a loss.

I think you're underrating Derek Smith. When Levan had only armwrestled for 4 months, he was nowhere near the level Derek has now, even when adjusting the weight disparity. You also need to keep in mind that it's not 4 months of good training, but 4 months of figuring out what's truly AW, dealing with pain, having to take breaks and having no real competition. I do think 4 months of perfect training may be enough, but in the real world no one has perfect training in the first months.

I would say have him pull someone like Mike Ayello or Scott Mendelson.

I like Pradeeps news but when he gives opinions and says things like if Brian Shaw can’t beat Derek smith with virtually no training then he can’t be a top 5 guy in the world it’s just makes him sound ridiculous. If you look at all of the top 5 guys in the world, Levan, Ermes, Devon to name a few none of them could have defeated current Derek Smith until they had been arm wrestling for atleast probably 5 years. Derek Smith isn’t a top 20 open guy in the world but he’s also not far from that on the right arm.
