I know Brian might not want to hear this, but: the world is a better place because he chose comedy over football. Maybe he could have been a football pro, but the years of laughter he has given us are priceless.

I know Brian might not want to hear this... I think it's not that he doesn't want to hear deep compliments it's more that he is uncomfortable hearing them. His self-depreciating humor flows from his humbled personality I honestly think.

No, he wouldn't have become a football pro. The level of the NFL, even back in the late 70s, early 80s, was so much higher than normal people can even begin to imagine. I'm sure Brian was an excellent athlete in his youth but that's just a stretch to imagine him in the NFL.

I had the pleasure of seeing him in Charlotte NC in the mid 80's. He's been my favorite comedian ever since.

i can image tho that in a regular setting, group at a restaurant & u got Regan there in case something unexpected happens & u can just look at the guy & see the wheels turning, hear the comments he's thinking from those expressions, he's a good interview too, maybe i'll check out the Marc Maron wtf interview again 🔔

Makes me feel better that even someone as successful and famous as Brian Regan still looks back at his football days so fondly. What a great sport.

The first time I saw a Brian Regan special, I laughed so hard, I was afraid I was going to have a heart attack or something. I'd never laughed at another comedian as much, before or after.

I’ve been a huge fan of him since the first time I saw him perform! To be so incredibly funny and clean is just amazing, it really takes talent!!

Are you shitting me? I love Brian Regan. So much.

I love this. Brian is hilarious and takes care of his openers and the staff where he performs. He’s the best.

Brian is absolutely the BEST comedian ever! I don’t know how many times we’ve watched his show at the Improv so many years ago and we actually quote some of his stuff almost daily. He makes us laugh so hard! Thank you Brian for being a CLEAN comedian who leaves us in stitches over and over again. God bless you! ❤

"How do I get this goodness in me?" 🤣🤣 Every once in a while I'll see a KZread comment under one of his videos where someone says he isn't funny. I give it serious thought! Then I realize that I come from the same generation and culture as Bryan. If you were to read his jokes they wouldn't be that funny. The humor is in the way that he tells the jokes, and his style may not be that funny to people from other countries, cultures, or generations. I don't know, but that's about the only explanation I have for someone who doesn't think that the most hilarious comedian on the planet isn't funny.

One of my favorite comedians. The funniest thing is that the 1979 footage is in black and white. 🤣

Like they said, you can listen to him with kids present and get big laughs from everyone. “What’s your science project Brian?” “‘It’s a cup uh dirt”😂

Brian ,you have made that at touch down already , but it’s in peoples lives. If you had made that touchdown it would have been forgotten by now , but you will be loved by millions for your incredible gift and talent for making people feel good! No other comedian has your warmth , humanity and humility. You are a living legend.

I've had that same dream over and over about my high school career for 15 years. Since I was 23 years old I've had a recurring dream that I'm back in high school playing offensive line. Except, I wasn't that good. I just played left tackle. But I always love that recurring dream. It is fun.

I was a small-time comedy booker in Jersey back in the '80s just as Brian was poised to make it big. Now I know why he would zig and zag when he left the stage, and sometimes leveled a cocktail waitress or two. It all makes perfect sense.

I get tongue tied with that too except mine is when someone says "have a nice day", I often respond with "you do too" because my brain wants to say "you too" and "you do the same " at the same time and it comes out as "you do too"

My fiance and I are going to see him next year! I've been a fan for over 20 years! Love you, Brian!

I played a little ball myself in school and still 30 years later I have dreams where I am playing again and it never feels weird in the dream....always makes sense somehow.

His comedy will brighten up your darkest day. Legend.

As a server, I received 2 tickets to one of his shows in Houston as a tip. I got to his show late and only saw about 15 minutes. I'll gladly go and see him again.

I`ve seen Brian Regan (my favorite comedian) and Dan Soder live. Both are hilarious and underrated.

His humility stands out. He plays like he doesn't know much about sports in his routine, but the knowledge is there. "Go, sports-team! Thoroughly trounce the opponent!"

That made me tear up to see him tear up watching his highlights. He's a fearless dude!

Being a comedian, or a performer in general, is enhanced by athleticism. I've been around a number of actors from regional theater and some time I spent out in LA and one of the things that always struck me is how fit and strong most of them are (and also how loud and clear their voices often are in person). Being strong physically and in training prepares you for the work and discipline of writing, of executing an action and idea clearly and cleanly. Hell, I was in a local commercial many years ago as an extra and I even noticed how elegantly and effortlessly trained actors even walk, like they're literally floating on air or like dancers. Brian Regan's trademark is consistency and professionalism and he likely learned it through sports.

Ironically, at 1:55, Mike Whittington (#58) of the NY Giants tackles Arthur Whittington (#22) of the Oakland Raiders. Took me a few minutes to sort that one out!

Has always been as good as a comedian gets for me, and I have hugely appreciated his refraining from dirty material. What this clip shows is that he is also a genuinely humble man. Good on you, Mr. Regan. God's blessings.

There has never been anything funnier than Brian's stand up on t.v. when I was growing up. Every laugh I've had since then is compared to those.

I used to see more of him back in the day and he really was genuinely funny. He was talking in an alternate voice before Jim Gaffigan. Although Brian's is more stressed and over the top, he sure got his joke across.
