Ireland have a lot of work to do now in order to get out the group stage of RWC. England bullied them all of the pitch and although BOD and JH saying Ireland made mistakes, England made them make mistakes.

@@ammmusic2882 ah to be fair, it was a pretty strong team But I think the training we're doing for the WC isn't what we'd be doing if the warm-ups were happening in isolation We rolled into Twickenham tired I doubt Joe thought it would go as poorly as it did, but I reckon he'd prefer us lose this game and be properly conditioned for Japan, than the opposite

Good to hear the guys backing Rory Best, he has been massively underrated over recent years, his workrate and leadership is immense, hard to believe he is still competing in the front row at this level at 37. I had thought Sean Cronin would have surpassed him this year, but Cronin has shown weaknesses under pressure, he is still a superb impact replacement though.

Is this not a game where the guys who haven’t played get picked and then you choose your first choice for the last game. So Ryan and maybe toner in the second row, scannell hooker, Jordi Ruddock Conan back row, Marmion Carty half backs, Henshaw Farrell in the centre

The idea that Jack Conan will come in a fix everything needs to be lost, he's a fantastic player for Leinster and can be good for Ireland but he's not delivered on the international stage so far, fantastic bench option for the last 20 mins and he allows all of the back row to be covered with injury (move CJ to 6 or pom to 7 in case of injury). Have to say that best needs to go, scannell to start and Cronin on the bench if you're prepared to lose lineouts, herring if not

Stander is the most one dimensional player in the squad his main strength is carrying the ball into heavy traffic repeatedly and making no ground the man is actually allergic to passing the ball I think.Look at Billy Vunipola a big man who can run over you or draw defenders into him and offload but he wasn't always like that when he joined Saracens first he was also one dimensional but he's developed into a world class all round no8. Standers been with Munster since 2012 and in 7 years they haven't been able to coach him how to pass a rugby ball the most basic skill in the game that's either down to brutal coaching or a refusal to learn on his part. Conan is a far better footballer and link player similar to Jamie Heaslip an intelligent player and his work rate has improved hugely in the last two years he's clearly our best number 8.

@@stallthedigger2599 'Conan is a far better footballer and link player similar to Jamie Heaslip' - don't insult him, Jack Conan is a much better player than Heaslip ever was. But again, my point is that Conan is a fantastic player but whether its his own fault or down to the way the team plays or whatever, he hasnt delivered for ireland. having said that i think hes good enough to be a fantastic impact sub and could wreak havoc if a different type of player is needed late in the game. CJ has been poor so far this year in fairness but the team a whole has and hes been decent enough for munster

England were immense last saturday, probably not the right game for ireland following a confidence sapping 6 Nations, Ireland can still do well, it will just need one polarising event or play from someone to get their mojo back.

Jamie Heaslip.. "Rory Best should retain captaincy and he deserves to another start as hooker because of what he done through the years" This is exactly the type of sentimentality that does not do any favours to Irish rugby, Best is past his prime, he's too old, not fit enough, and not good enough anymore, end of story, this is the type of sentimental bulls**t needs to be expelled from Irish international rugby once and for all.
