BRIAN MAY:
"KEEP YOURSELF ALIVE Part 2
Don’t even THINK of watching this if you’re not interested in guitars, Queen music , or musings on the CoronaVirus. This is the conclusion of my MicroConcert of last night - which veers off into a Star Lick tutorial. And some noodling. And some concluding thoughts about the situation we’re all in, as humans, right now. THANKS so much for the comments you’ve sent me about these guitar Microcosms - it’s actually taught me a lot in terms of what I have to offer and what I might be doing with it in order to maximise its effect. We all need to be aware of the effect we have on those around us - if we have time to stop and listen. We all need a mirror.
Take care dear folks
Bri"

I live in California and was going through my metal Starbucks mints container(not sure if they make them anymore) where I keep a collection of picks of different types and sizes(some just found on the ground) and found a 2008 five pence coin(don't know where I came across this little gem) to play along with Brian. Its as close as I could get.

Ok, talking about the effect you may have on US, your audience, perhaps you can't imagine how much I appreciate this kinda contribution... seeing the Master playing the licks he once created, when he and his mates were on top... It's amazing, trust me, even if I never make it to see Queen live, to see you this close and explaining the licks to us... This kind of stuff for me it's just inspiring, to say the least... I was born in 1988, three years before Freddie died... sometimes I find strange the fact that he and I and Queen coexisted in those 3 years evethough I didn't know the band back then... sometimes I think what could've been of Queen if Freddie was still around these days... but well, his legacy and the remaining members of Queen continue to make history... And yes, I really enjoy seeing you play this close... ok no more words... just a HUGE THANK YOU! Let's continue to beat 'the bastard' as well!

Your heart is bigger than your stardom, you take the time to not only think about others but to open your private side of life up! A real treat, I love you as one of the loudest guitar legends alive. Yet I believe your concern for all the average folk outshines your rockstar. May you live forever!!!!! Love from Iowa U.S.

Brian just wanted you to know that when I was growing up in the 90s I was the most unpopular kid in school. Everyone was in to rave music. I tried to enjoy too but it wasn't my thing. I discovered Queen through my friend's father and everything changed for me. I started with the greatest hits volumes and progressed from there. I was blown away with how good you guys were! It had a HUGE impact on my developing years and for that I wish to THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. You inspired me to learn the guitar and my whole judgement on how good bands are is compared to Queen (and your solo stuff! particularily Back to the Light album). For this I want to say greetings from ireland and THANK YOU!!!!

Has anyone ever told you how soothing and calming the timbre of your speaking voice is? Well...it is. You exude calmness, clarity, common sense, and inspire a sense of trust in the listener. Your kind of voice is what we all need right now so desperately. What you are doing for all of us right now is beyond words. Just saying “thank you” doesn’t seem near enough, but it will have to suffice: Thank you so much, Brian, for your humanity, you compassion, your kindness, your love for the world and all its myriad creatures. Your sharing of yourself right now is a gift to all of us. God bless you and keep you safe. Helene in Nevada

A dream come true for me to see this. Thank you Brian. Can Roger to join you one day? Or maybe Tim, I heard him sing Doin' Alright in Japan recently which was great. Maybe James Rundle could join you for an interview or a jam. It would be great for BM guitars to sponsor him with a Super after all the marketing he has done for Red Specials. He is a lovely guy working hard to make what you do understandable for all of us. I would love to hear you talk through the stories behind the songs and how they came about if you would be willing to reveal that. Thank you again Brian for all the years of pleasure Queen and especially Keep Yourself Alive have given me.

It didn t use to be that way. When i started playing the guitar, i would see Brian May playing on the tv once every 5 years for the royal wedding or whatever. Or i would watch the Wembley concert for the 2000 times, closely analysing every note. Now it s every day i see Brian playing on my phone, and i receive a notification for that. Arff... that s amazing.

Brian , you are brilliant and you know that I hope . I remember a time over a Xmas many years ago when you did a sitting down round some sofas in England? No queen members there but a lot of you on guitar . It was late at night , it was excellent . I think a guitar album would be great , a great thing to hear from you ? If you need bass I’m here any time , I play jazz mostly . You were so on point with the lockdown and it being all there on the tv as in over the last two months China on the news ect . Taiwan I hear has few corona cases because they blocked it . That could have been done here in England . Anyway , thanks for the great guitar music over the last few days . Mike x
