This is definitely one of the best NFL Films segments ever. Don't even like the damn Pats, but how can ya not just be totally happy for him man. Awesome story

7:23 The flashing lights of the superbowl man...those were the days. I wish the fans collectively brought that back by turning on the flash for their phones or something. It would be really nice to see that again
I love NFL Films! I wish every sport had an NFL Films

NFL Films is arguably the biggest reason the NFL is as big as it is today.

The first superbowl against the rams was special, but this second one had a very different meaning at the end, it went from 'I can't even believe this happened' to 'how many more times can they do this'? Turns out, 4 more times.

I'm guessing that Chrissy's team didn't fare so well v. New England??? 🤣
3:50 love how for the pregame meal back then they were eating kfc hahaha
Greatest game on the planet.....nothing compares, forget soccer, forget baseball....football takes the cake every time
I like him and know him more for being the guy who said “that’s kinda gay” on a national football game broadcast
I read his book several years ago in high school. It's such a great story and really does a good job showing his emotions through the journey and how he worked through through that awful game to make it. Love that this got it's own dedicated video on here. Heck, I remember messaging the NFL Facebook page years ago suggesting they make some sort of piece on him, so I can't help but feel like I played a small role in this (even though I almost certainly didn't)

I did too! He was my football coach in highschool. We were blessed because before he worked at parkview Baptist which was a huge powerhouse at the time, then he went to a small 1A school called ascension Christian in Gonzalez. I had some trouble at home and he allowed me to stay at his house for a few months. This man’s legacy will live forever in my family
I read this guys book in middle school! Awesome story!

I came to mention his book. I read it in High School and loved it, so I went and bought my own copy (and now have 2 because I lost it and bought a replacement, only to find the old one lol)
As a former career elementary teacher myself, I'm glad I clicked on this video. 😊
Amazing story and so is Brian's book!
That’s my football coach ❤ love that man
We love brian
How's you how important these unsexy positions are. Pat McAfee is really showing the kicking game importance and to think a long snapper could have taken a ring from Tommy.

Unsexy positions? Take a ring from tommy? Oh yeah how awful would it have been for tom to only have 6 instead of 7 rings lol

I don't know the details but wouldn't your center be your best choice in this kind of situation?
@kamehamehey22615

The typical snap for a center differs from a long snapper snap. Prior to the 21st century, you would have a linemen on special teams be a long snapper, but eventually teams realized it's better to have a specialized long snapper to prevent long snaps from going awry. I would guess that at the time of this Super Bowl, every team or almost every team had dedicated long snappers

Nah. While both snap the ball, a long snap needs to be much more precise than a regular snap. It's kinda like asking your Punter to kick a 50 yard FG. Could he do it once? MAYBE. Could he do it consistently? Unlikely
@houseofchinn6112

Are you serious? Think about it If he had to go on punt. He would have to cover and be able to run as a defender. He could be hurt. He could be tired from the offensive series. It's a different snap and ball. It's a K ball and it's prepared differently Lotta long snappers aren't just former centers. Lotta skill guys can LS and with the rules you can't hit a LS on punt or FG/XP. So it's a better athlete on punt team FG blocking is different and violent and don't want your starting center to get rolled up even for one play

@@houseofchinn6112 Yep - and a great long snapper is actually able to control the spin of the ball so that the placeholder catches it and places it down with the laces already facing toward the goalposts
Absolutely despise the Pats. This was cool, though.
