Reefat is gone, but his brave legacy will remain among everyone who fights for freedom, all over the world . And I always loved Mr. Cox's works and its really assuring to know that he is a man who cares about justice and human rights. I am so upset and disgusted by some people of Hollywood who are blindly ( or knowingly) supporting genocide in Gaza.

No. the IDF didnt admit it didnt happen, And a ZAKA volunteer, a non-profit religious organization who handles the victims of terror attacks - who were the first to clean the murder scenes - described this in detail. as well as the pregnant woman found with her belly cut open and her 4 month old fetus stabbed while still connected to the embilibal cord. this happend. and this poet found there's humor in this. evidently, he's not laughing at the victims anymore@@RebeccaTurner-ny1xx

Refaat, a true educator, an extraordinary poet, a loving father and husband, a trustworthy reliable friend, a keeper of the land. A beautiful soul, killed by someone who haven't yet understood the magnitude of his unforgivable sin, who can't even understand his own past. Refaat inspired and will continue to Inspire millions upon millions, not to hate or deceive, but to disintegrate and transcend all hatred and deceit, borders and closed gates, distance itself. His youngest daughter, "Amal" 7 years old, her name chosen by Refaat's wife, means "Hope" in Arabic (أمل). He saw the importance of teaching English to Gazans to strengthen their self expression skills, taught hundreds of poets, writers, novelists and journalists. Refaat recognized how much similar the situation is between Jews before WWII and Palestinians today. He taught constantly about antisemitism and how it destroyed Europe. I loved his poems "I am you" and "If I must die" and currently reading a lot of his articles and watching his lectures on KZread. Deepest condolences to his family, friends and students. may god give them patience and strength. Hope and dedication are the key.

Refaat Alareer called the 2023 Hamas-led slaughter of civilians in Israel "legitimate and moral" and rejected evidence that Hamas engaged in mass brutal sexual attacks. Interesting that this page is full of women defending a man who did not bat an eyelid at the sexual attacks that took place during the Hamas attack!

While it could be "seize" (to apprehend, perceive) as in transcript, I think it's "sees" the kite. The last line gets it right, as the word is Tale ~ not the tail of a kite. This poem gets me every time Gazans don't want to be forgotten . They want to at least be a legend for all to remember. The martyrdom of Gaza will be remembered, it will become a legend, and it's people the heroes of our time. In 1000 years, the world will forget Israel, but Gaza will be etched in to the minds of humanity, and etched in to history.
