I really love how in the beginning it's so cheerful then it gets calm and kinda sad at water. Earth is just hectic and fire is an amazing ending to all the emotions you feel after 4 different songs

As a marimba player, I still love the oboe solo in Air

Played this today, only had 2 days for the whole band to learn it and it sounded down right awesome

I like that the tom drums make the fire movement sound like a stampede of animals

I played the piano part for my concert band senior year. 'twas the only time in all 4 years i got to play piano on stage for the band and it's the performance i remember most fondly. Love this piece and the memory it gave me.

Earth sounds so much like Mercury from the Planets suite.

This song is my favorite of anything I played in band, what's even better is that I moved from the school I played it at and I actually got to meet Mr. Balmages at the school I went to after we moved! I play tuba, so the intro to fire is the most exhilarating thing ive ever played

Water is the best. Earth sounds like a combination of Spongebob's Tomfoolery, and Star Wars and Harry Potter.

I have trombone 1, and water is my absolute favorite piece I've ever played. That build up is just so beautiful.

I understand that vibe and it is a muted trumpet so it also adds on to the similarities

One moment I'm proud to be the only hornist in my band is at 55 in fire! So pretty! Also not sure if anyone else noticed, but towards the end of fire also, the opening for air is being played by the percussion section.

The ostinato of Air is supposed to be "fanning the flames" of the fire movement :)

Ok this might be true but in fire you can hear the melody of air in the background. This could be because air is what sustains fire. The more h20 the stronger the fire will be and vice versa

I play timpani, I have a good 4 measures of rolls and the rest of water is rests, my favorite too

Fire is the best. We get a good trombone part

I remember doing that oboe solo in air and almost passing out because off that high note

We're doing out marching band show based on this! This is awesome to hear the piece
