Brexiteer Has A Meltdown When Attempting To Grill A Farming Expert!

Kevin O'Sullivan from Talk TV tried to grill Liz Webster the founder of the anti-Brexit Save British Farming group. This was following news of an EU change to fruit content in jam which would affect some British producers. As the UK is outside it has no part of the decision making but instead of engaging, the Brexiteer had a meltdown.

We are stronger together with people who respect and value us, with our brothers. We are not stronger with politicians who tried to blackmail us, saw it didn't work, then left while spitting in our faces and the only reason they have regrets is that they're realizing the world doesn't line up to sign deals with them. The average Brexit voter that has any regrets does so for the sake of his/her own pockets, not because they suddenly realized Europeans are their brothers. They still think we're animals, they're still the arrogant Albion expecting preferential treatment and exceptions. And we are not stronger with an unstable country joining us, one where there is already talk of separation, playing with authoritarian rule. Can you imagine the damage these people would do, exporting their internal instability and corrupt/incompetent politicians? Do you want to see Farage back in the European Parliament? Because they will send them back as a "f**k you" aimed at us. We have enough issues to deal with on our own, we also have such politicians and people, we don't need to add to those problems by bringing Widdecombe back.

You know what's the best thing about trying to stick it to the Brits? The fact that we just have to watch and not do anything, because they're doing a great job sticking it to themselves with Tories in power, weak, pathetic Labour, and patriotards like Reform UK, GB News and Talk TV. It's all unfolding before our eyes as a macabre spectacle we can't take our eyes off of.

When we were a member we took part in establishing the rules with our other equal sovereign partners. We can't complain about not being part of the decision process because our parliament bizarrely took us out of the EU due to a flawed referendum. Democracy is about people knowing what they are voting for. Some leavers claim we still haven't left the EU, so clearly they didn't know what they voted for, as we have sadly left the EU. Their arguments are circular.

The UK government chose to become a third country, ending the four freedoms and leaving the customs union and single market. This and the Trade and Co-Operation Agreement (still being implemented) is largely why the UK is in its present state. The 'majority of people' didn't vote to leave! There were 46.5 million registered voters at the time, 17.4 million voted to leave, that's only 37.4% of registered voters! Unfortunately only 34.6% voted to remain.

@@KurtFrederiksen Besides apathy, there's an equal argument that those non-voters were either prevented from voting for all kinds of reasons in their life or just believed remain would win anyway without their vote. The majority of those who voted voted to leave, not the 'majority of people'. That is a factually incorrect claim.

@@wickedymike Surely you cannot defend the non voters with "believeing remain would win anyway" or whatever other reason you came up with. They are as responsible for brexit as the leave voters. Thus a majority of the electorate is responsible for the end result of brexit.

@@trident6547 I'm not defending it at all. The Brexit camp succeeded in motivating its side more to come out and vote. That being said, no they aren't as responsible. Most responsible are those who peddle lies about Brexit (politicians and media alike), and the incompetent and cowardly Tories that got to define what kind of Brexit was legislated. That's where I lay the blame. The populace was asked to vote on something they were constantly lied about and was vague enough to cover an enormous range of possible outcomes. Many promises made from the pro-Brexit camp, often contradictory ones, none were kept. But they sold a fantasy that many believed in, some still do to this day, despite contrary evidence. It's a triumph of misinformation.

Some people learn from knowledge, others learn from experience. It makes me sad, but Brexit is a long, hard and painful lesson for the unthinking masses. They need to live and feel that pain before they come to their senses. You can't force that, we just need to ride it out. But don't be silent, ask them each day, how is it working out for you? PS. Kevin isn't stupid. He was ironically the Food Science journalist for The Irish Times. He was editor of the same paper. He is Irish, his country of birth is still in the EU.

I doubt the EU is talking about revenge on the UK. It's more likely the UK is not talked about at all.

You can literally see him foaming at the mouth. Showbiz journalist commenting on Brexit, sort of sums up Britain in 2023.
