Brewster Track Hike up to the Summit of Mt. Armstrong | Mt. Aspiring Park, South Island New Zealand

Спорт

Sandi and I make the summit of Mt. Armstrong via the Brewster Hut route on the Brewster Track. Some info and scenery from the trek! [It's worth noting that Sandi and I are both experienced ultra-marathon trail runners from high altitude. Hikers with less experience and more standard (heavier packs) might expect this summit to take a good 4-5 hours one-way or more......for a 7-10 hour day round-trip. Many make reservations in the Brewster Hut well in advance and spend 2 days on this trek.]

This is my inspiration for my next big holiday. I had New Zealand on my mind for a long time but now I am actually going to start planning.

wow.... those views bring back some memories for me. I was the Ski School Director at Temple Basin in Arthur's Pass in 1993. The South Island of New Zealand is such an awesome place. Watch out for those Kia birds though. Don't leave anything with soft plastics unattended with them around. They will go after it. They used to go after the soft plastic bits on ski bindings when I was down there. They would attack them in bunches. Those birds are beautiful but they are a menace. Enjoy the rest of your time down there. Send us more videos of your adventures. Cheers..... oh and have a few Speights.

Awesome views. Went to NZ last October but didn't attempt this track. Would've physically collapsed 1/4 of the way through, lol. Enjoy!!!

I guess it goes without saying that there is no such thing as a hiker with a fear of heights? Beautiful views but man... you're up there.

Is it common for people to call a glacier a glossy-er or is he just joking around? Where I'm from we call em glayshyers...
