    I'd honestly have a hard time putting him in the top 10 all time (as far as pure talent). But he was probably one of the most exciting QB's to ever watch, because of his passion. And he WAS pretty damn good too! But Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Manning, Montana, Elway, Marino, Warner......I'd have a hard time putting Favre above any of them.

  • @JudgeDillon

    @JudgeDillon

    9 жыл бұрын

    Adam Varilek yikes... Cam Newton? Oh boy, I mean Tom isn't the fastest guy out there, but his "intangibles" are what win football games and what creates a dynasty. If being a quarterback began and ended with throwing the ball to a reciever Andrew Luck and Aaron Rodgers are superior, but Tom Brady has the awareness and football intelligence to exploit even the smallest weakness in a defense. See: Superbowl XLIX 4th quarter against one of the best defenses in football history. Montana was an unstoppable weapon in his time, and was superior to Elway, Morino, Luck, Rodgers, and Manning. I wouldn't place him above or below Tom Brady however.

    Most people have Favre top 5 all-time, but really he should be no.1. He owns all the records except for the one Manning broke recently. And let's be real, they changed the rules specifically to suit Manning's technician-style of QB. And look at who he did it with. Aside from Adrian Peterson, whom he only played with one year at age 40, and maybe Ahman Green, his weapons were generally borderline-scrubs that he made stars out of (and it didn't help that those RB's fumbled a lot in big games). But you look at the receivers, with the exception of sterling sharpe when favre was still green, and they never did shit without Favre. And none were very impressive physically. Favre got a lot of good - some even monstrous - seasons out of average players like Antonio Freeman, Robert Brooks, Bill Schroeder, Donald Driver, Robert Ferguson, Javon Walker, Jerricho Cotchery, Sidney Rice, and Percy Harvin. Of all those guys I just mentioned, only Walker and Harvin were taken in the 1st round, and they're considered to be basically busts. And he never had dynamic pass-catching TE's during his entire career with GB, instead relying on plodding mini-tackles like Mark Chmura and Bubba Franks. Maybe you guys don't remember just how fucking indefensible he was back when he was young and had wheels. Or how about the fact he won all his MVP's with RB's like Edgar Bennett and Dorsey Levens. Not bad players but nothing near the Edgerrin James's and Roger Craig's of the world. I'm not taking anything away from a guy like Peyton Manning, but he has played with some TERRIFIC offensive players - most of them 1st round picks and many of them future HOFers - like Marshall Faulk, Edgerrin James, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas, Wes Welker. Even guys like Brandon Stokley and Eric Decker, though not overwhelming talents, were perfect for their roles. And guys like Montana and Brady had the luxury of playing their entire careers under the same brilliant coach (or most of it, anyway).

Or to secure home-field advantage in 2009 at Chicago he fumbled in OT and lost us the game. Not saying he was a bad player for us, he’s one of the GOAT running backs ever but he did cost of some *huge* games.

    Amen. And hiring pushover Leslie after pushover Chilly was just an embarrassment. Nice people, not great coaches though. They're in the Mike Yeo category of "people you want to see succeed, but not people you want to have as your favorite team's head coach."

    I hated that guy till he became a Viking !! He makes players believe in themselves!!! He made them Vikings a great team when they would have been 7-9 without Brett. Sydney Rice was a superstar because of Brett. It was fun watching him smoke the Packers twice that year !!!

    2009. The only realistic shot Minnesota ever had of winning a championship. And don't even try mentioning '98, '87, '17, or any of the 4 super bowl appearances either. ALL of those other seasons were mirages. 2009 was the real deal, but they screwed themselves.

    This team should've won the superbowl. All favre had to do was run 8 yds and get out of bounds vs the saints. It would've been a dream ending and he could've retired in peace
