I get into a daze listening to Bret’s voice as he sings… His voice is like an angel and I love his songs as the lead singer of Poison and as a solo artist… I wish my boyfriend and I could watch him in concert…

The lyrics remind me of those times I felt loved by women, no matter what I did. And the guitar sends me back to my childhood of the early 90's, backyard - LOVED LAYING ON THE GRASS

You and POISON are kickin' everybody's ASS out man!!!

This song is really the only thing that's keeping me going

Listening to this again in Dec 2019 & still love it just as much. Thank you Bret for all your beautiful works of art. Always great music with beautiful lyrics. #SteelCityProud ❤

this was actually written and demoed in 1997 by bret for a country album that never wound up being released. he finally threw this song on one of his albums that were cheaply put out over the early 2000s.

I'm so glad Bret made this track and the whole album. A great artist. To have such popularity as a rock-n-roll singer & front man for Poison, if you really listen,so many of his songs,really the most popular ones, are ballads. They're about life, love, and loss. He writes from the heart and you feel it. A lot of it you can tell is personal to him & his from his own experiences.He's also had a Guardian Angel looking over him. To have surpassed 40+ with Type I Diabetes is surpassing the odds. That's an on-going battle in and of itself. Then later to have survived a brain hemorrhage (with seemingly no residual long-term deficits), & a correction of a heart condition that caused him to have a mini-stroke after the initial closed brain injury is medically rare. He's both gifted and blessed.

I really enjoyed his show last Saturday night on 10-25-14. He's still got it! Played in a small venue outside of Chicago, IL - the classics from Poison, some of his older songs on his own, and some current from his most recent releases. Still looks great too. ;-)

One week later, Brett was hospitalized yet wouldn't stay long enough to complete medical intervention on a problem with his kidneys. He had several more concerts scheduled and did everything in his power to make each of his concert dates - playing & stopping at hospitals in-between the drives from one destination to the next. Since he kept discharging himself against medical advice (AMA), at the last hospital of 6, a Dr was finally able to sedate him enough for the pain, which also disabled him from walking out, and was then able to successfully insert two shunts into his failing kidneys. Bret had to cancel the last concert in his tour, a charity concert. He was very disappointed to have to disappoint his fans & the fund raising event, but he physically couldn't perform. I hope he heals and that his diabetes doesn't spiral out of control due to the kidney involvement. I also hope he comes to understand the difference between being loyal to his fans and working arduously, compared to the higher need of taking care of himself first so he can be be able to continue with the career he has loved for decades.
