I would've traded one more year of Bret Hart for Goldberg's entire run.

Wrestling was safer by a mile and a half 20 years ago and prior because the vast majority were trained at a real wrestling school or in the old NWA territories, not by Create A Pro. Guys were trained. Obviously, WCW dropped the ball with Goldberg, rushing him out of the Power Plant because of his look and WWF pushed Ahmed too soon when he had no interest in being a safe worker. But these days, most guys learn on the Indies where they find a trainer who probably didn't have much of a career in any major company. Bret was known for being a safe worker, by contrast. There's a wrestling wrestling today is garbage. Look at the wrestlers the top guys of today and younger guys look up to. Crash test dummies and circus freaks, not wrestlers.

Fortunately most people in the wrestling business aren’t histrionics like you, so nobody wanted that - including Austin. By the way, probably every single guy who does a piledriver at one time or another laid one in on a guy. It happens. That’s why it’s dangerous and that’s why even wwe - the best of the best - decided to cut it way back. When undertaker drops koko on his head he could have had the same thing happen in his first night. You can’t be in wrestling and be a total wuss - everyone accepts that an mistake can happen. If you chronically make mistakes, that’s different.

Shawn and Marty are total shit bags for doing that. I expect unprofessional conduct out of Shawn, but it still doesn't excuse him. It would only be the first of many ways he would help ruin wrestling in the long run.

Congrats to Bret Hart on becoming the most bitter guy in wrestling due to the recent passing of Ole Anderson. Not saying that he doesn't have a reason to be bitter, but boy has it become tiresome over the years.
