I had a orange tabby named Spot as well, the problem was that he had a brother named Stripe, It was unusual because they were identical and I was afraid that they would die because they were identical, they had a less than 50 percent chance of survival because with twin animals you usually lose one or both I was lucky enough to have both cats for three years before they passed away!🥺🐱🐈❤

There were two different cats just in *Phantasms*. Data hands Worf a fully orange cat, then at the end there's a cat with quite a bit of white. This is the point I think Worf killed the original Spot, and borrowing from a sitcom, he brought Data back a similar cat and somehow the android didn't notice. It would also explain how the originally male cat had kittens later on.

I named my Parakeet Spot. I also named his now wife bird Speck in honor of Data's Spot the cat. The bird can take direction to go back into the cage on command, well actually maybe it would take more than one take... so he lives up to his famous STNG Spot LOL

Brent is sooo funny, and a very clever man
I think he looks great.
"Felis catis, is your taxinomic nomenclature An endothermic quadriped, carnivorous by nature?"
@bookworm1138 I love 'Generations' funnily enough, but I'm biased. It's the first Trek movie I ever saw at an early age and it made me the Trekkie I am today. I just love the Enterprise crashing scene and the Nexus and the beginning of the movie....I mean...it's not the greatest Trek movie but it certainly isn't the worst. That glory goes to 'V: Final Frontier' and that will never change.
my cat was named Spot because he was a tiny spot in the alley when I found him

I had a orange tabby named Spot as well, the problem was that he had a brother named Stripe, It was unusual because they were identical and I was afraid that they would die because they were identical, they had a less than 50 percent chance of survival because with twin animals you usually lose one or both I was lucky enough to have both cats for three years before they passed away!🥺🐱🐈❤
I made this comment exactly when this video became 10 years old. October 24, 2020.
Now in the days before KZread, I saw that episode and taped it until I had Data's poem memorized.
My two cats lay around and steal my side of the bed when I am up.
he is being funny, not hating on the cat. The cat was the best prop in the show/movies. It made him more "human." Spot was awesome, especially how he kept getting handed off to Worf to watch.
Brent was the programmer of the cat.
I'm sorry to hear that - when did you meet him? When I met him 2 or 3 years ago he was very nice (even though I looked terrible - both for my clothes and for looking like I had a cold - that day, and wasn't on top of my game socially, either). He listened to what I said, responded appropriately, posed for [free] photos with me, joked around playfully...it was great!
That was actually entertaining. Very nice.
Hahhahaha love Brent Spiner!
It was a fan poem that made them put a cat in the tv show so that soon Data to recite it on TV and back then fans went crazy that they actually paid attention to a fans silly poem.
The 'Law & Order' was great, Spiner was a psychotic husband. No doubt he can act. He was on another sci-fi show called 'Threshold', about an alien virus that was transmitted through sound waves. It was actually pretty scary, but didn't last.

I loved that show!! I remember watching it religiously when it was on, such a damn shame it was canceled! I loved Brent Spiner's performance in it as Dr. Nigel Fenway! If you find it, check it out, you won't be disappointed!!👽
To know him is to love him and to love him is to know him.

That was the episode where the scientist took over data's body, and data said that at his wake, which was the scientist in data's body that was saying it.

I have seen it too. Damnit...
I wonder how many times he gets asked about spot the cat 🤔

He gets asked about Spot the cat in practically every question and answer session that he does. And he always says the same thing: that the cat was stupid, the cat was a terrible actor, he hated the cat, etc. And he wonders why he has the reputation of hating cats!

Forty Two.
Thanks for the title
Spot eats Tuna out of can,.... becomes radioactive.
In one episode, Data banged Spot's head against his desk by mistake. That's when he's trying to teach him not to jump on his desk. That was in "A Fistful of Datas". "Vamoose, you little varmin" (or whatever that is he's saying) :-)
I am trying to find any footage of the musical show at Astroworld in Houston where Brent had his first stage job. I have found the old "To Tell the Truth" clip.
LOL Brent's awesome.
@punkrockcop Spot is Data's orange tabby cat in Star Trek: The Next Generation
@vpin2000 you know, as much as people say that, because Generations was an 'odd-numbered' ST movie, it failed, there were still enough good moments to make it watchable...such as Data's emotion-chip quirks
I got tuna tuna tuna tuna in my tummy, and data gave it to me! Yummy yummy yummy I got tuna in my tummy....
Spot, Runter, Runter... Here is Runter, Runter is good! Spot, Runter, Runter... Here is Runter, Spot, Here is Runter, Runter is good!
He really is a funny guy. I'd totally go to a Spiner comedy show!
If you want to see how funny Brent can be, look up his many appearances on Night Court. There may be montages to view.
VAMOOS YA LITTLE VARMIT~
Spot had to be based on Jones the Cat in the first "Alien" movie.

It was cute, Fenrir, I literally laughed out loud. :)
RIP Spot
I am glad he insulted spot. It's refreshing to hear an actor insult another with such honesty, instead of pulling punches all the time....lol.
... Oh good lord, if he did 300? Persian Messenger: This is blasphemy! This is madness! Data: I am afraid you are mistaken. For this is Sparta. *boot* (Although Lore totally would have done it the same way as Butler. XD )
Brent Spiner would be nowhere today had it not been for that cat.
Spot is now sitting in an acting-animals retirement home saying to people, "I am big! It's the Alpha Quadrant that got smaller!!"
Which cat? Spot's breed changed each episode.
