For the record, I wish the video were sharper as well. It was recorded with a still camera, using a 300mm telephoto lens, as I tried to hold it between two tall people sitting in front of me. Still, I think the story was worth saving, even in this, let's say 'less than ideal' version.

There was one episode where Data said Picard's authorization code while imitating Picard's voice. At the time I just assumed they dubbed it over, but I have seen how good Brent's impression of Stewart is and now I'm wondering... did they dub or was that actually Brent's vocals which were used in that part?

When I was 22 years old, I adopted a tiny kitten and named it "Spaz". He certainly lived up to that moniker with his crazy antics. Best kitty ever! I had him 18 years, he died in my arms 20 years ago after a long illness; one week after my mom died. I told him that day, "This would be a good time for you to leave me, because I couldn't feel worse than I do right now." I was wrong. Last year, on Dec. 27th after the loneliest, most depressing Xmas ever, I was startled to see a beautiful "tuxedo" cat looking at me through the glass front door, and this cat looks exactly like Spaz! My son was eight years old when Spaz died, and he also loved him. As calmly as I could, I told my now 28 year old son who was sitting on the couch, "Go look on the porch, you're not going to believe who is out there." He did, and said, "SPAZ??!!" He got him indoors (not easy, he was feral) and within a month this cat was my buddy, and he's never wanted to go back outside where the coyotes, wolves, bobcat, and pumas live. To him, "outside" is the "bad place". Still don't know how he got here. We live far out in the boonies, on a 20 acre off-grid goat ranch on a mountain. We think he came from a litter of barn cats from a "neighbor" 6 miles away because they were all "tuxedos" and the same age. Of the four kitties from that litter I've seen, he's the only one who looks exactly like Spaz though. He's also has frenetic energy like Spaz did, and acts more like a puppy than a kitten. I've had many cats over the years, but those two are the only ones who love stuffed toys and destroying furniture by chewing holes in it. I don't care, my furniture came from thrift stores and easily replaced. This spastic feline was the best "Xmas gift" I've ever gotten. Thank you, Universe! I'm not sad or lonely anymore. That's him I'm holding in my pic, and the reason for my big, stupid grin. I named him "Houdini" because he's wearing a tuxedo and he's magical. Sorry, didn't mean to write an essay, I know it sounds silly but this cat changed my life for the better.

Actually, they're making light of a truly sad interlude in the saga of The Enterprise. On one of its' first contact missions, the ship entered standard orbit around the planet Melmac. Being only partially familiar with the worlds' culture, they foolishly beamed aboard several of its' inhabitants, one of which managed to elude his escorts and began prowling around, unattended. I don't believe I need to relate the consequences.

Lets make this clear, Mr. Spiner changed science and computer lingo. I was in University Computer Science in 1985-86. NOBODY SAID memory storage was saying the A in DATA like Fonzie on Happy Days, Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Everyone, I mean everyone, said DATA like it was without the line over the A and you were repeating what the doctor tells you to say when he tells you to open wide and day "Ahhhhhh". Now everyone says Day-tuh, Ā like you were having sex with Lieutenant Yar kind of "Day-tah". Everyone at NASA, every astrophysicist on the Science Channel to PBS pronounce your name like it was always that way. You sir, will always be my hero, just like when I met you at Comicon 2010. You lied to me saying "They are killing us all off" in the movies. Seriously sir, I NOW know now you had a big hand on the writing DATA off in the last TNG movie. Amazing actor I very much admire and respect. Thank you for being... well, you. Still nice to me in 2010... I mean, despite all your all encompassing ego... I assume ego since you refused us in line filming you. Take care, write in DATA for Picard, before it's too late. Just a suggestion sir, no control... really. You are the one in control, so awesome.

The problem with that is that they're all too old now. Not to mention the fact that they're probably burned out of doing the show since they were on it for 7 years and then another 4 or so for the movies. Plus at this point I doubt most people still care about or even remember TNG. The actors have moved on in both their lives and their careers so they were probably a bit relieved once the show ended that they didn't have to keep playing the same parts over and over again.

Lavar Burton to read to them at night. 8. Michael Dorn's old prosthetics for chew toys.

Well I, for one, hope all three Spots lived long and healthy lives well past stardom.
Well, despite the behind the scenes stuff, data's connection throughout the series and then finding spot in Nemisis? the feels, man. the feels.

Every 5 seconds he roasts the ghosts of Spot(s)
Long as they are aging like wine and not cheese, I'm happy. Fact that they could be so personable and funny speaks WELL of our favorite Enterprise crew members

Spot survived the crash of the Enterprise-D saucer section only to be captured and eaten by Alf a week later. True story. So sad.

Proof of god at last.
One of my favorite Spot moments in ST:TNG is when she goes to eat some food from a bowl and it looks like there is a flea caught inside the food in the bowl and it is crawling around trying to get out. Seriously. I see it every time, but I've never seen anyone else comment on it. Has anyone else noticed that?
Years after TNG, I am still disappointed that it ended at Nemesis. :(!
First day with the new camera, huh? At least the audio (the most important part, so we could hear the story) kept constant.
He's so amazing!
That was great, thanks for that!
love how they showed how Spot survived 'Generations'...yet Captain James feaking Kirk didn't. cat's fine though kiddies. (brother)
At 300mm, I think you did a good job capturing it as well as you did. Gives me an idea how just how far away you were. Thanks for getting it. :)

And then if he gets work in post he can even add chroma flares to go with the lens flares and then badly white balance it. This is actually a good example of a typical KZreadr too stupid to know to take the camera off auto focus - if the camera isn't so cheap it doesn't even have that option.

People don't train cats; cats train people.
Sentience and sapience are two different things. Dogs are most certainly sentient. Its actual sapience where there is debate, although more and more research and information keeps coming out showing that they are.
I sure wish they would do another Star Trek movie with the TNG cast, Or maybe the Voyager cast. I totally miss them.
Technically, Spot the cats won't be born for another 300+ years.

"Long gone... like our career." 😹😻
Holy crap, you couldn't manage to keep the camera in focus?
I wish we saw Spot in Picard in Data’s simulation
I wonder if Roddenberry came up with the idea of a cat for Data, and how does someone pick one for the role.
I really wish someone would film these things properly. I don't want to see a digitally zoomed in iPhone video with ambient sound recording
Bob Wheeler ate Spot! Tasted like chicken!
Well they had already been dyeing it jet black for years anyway. His natural hair color was more of a dark brown, you can see it in the early screen test footage.
Cats are wicked hard to train to do anything. I watched a filming of Early Edition and they got the cat's attention by tapping a tin of cat food with a fork. That's how they got her to look at the camera.
It was specifically stated that dogs were not sentient in an episode of Star Trek: Enterprise.
By the end of the clip I'm watching two big blurs.
Lovely sound. But I do believe your camera was out too late lol. Fun though! Thanks

You should look at the character he played on "Night Court" before his role as Data. Really funny guy!
This is ironic considering it was supposedly his idea Data should have a cat in the first place.
Who's holding the camera? Spot?
Why the hell would data replicate tuna in a can? Could just replicate it on a saucer
Transporter accident, he was converted into Feline Supplement 74.
Yeah but in a way B4 took to the "data" transfer. That's why picard smiles when he leaves his ready room. He knew that All Data's memories and experiences would become B4`s So it may as well of been Data.

Mmmm yes, the entitled complaining is strong in this comments section. How quick we are to belittle someone's amateur little clip, as if they were supposed to film with an HD stabilized camera and NOTHING ELSE. Manual focus. Learn it. Use it.
They're not too old. The Motion Picture came out much after the original TV series and the original cast looked ok. And the TNG cast could just do with a little make up. Brent Spiner might need some CG to get rid of the wrinkles though. I would love to see one more TNG movie.
what why do you say that
If a writer puts action for the cat in the script...it is because that writer is pissed at you and purposely effing with you.... either make friends with that writer so they don’t do it again, or get that writer fired so they don’t do it again....

One of the best videos to listen to and not watch. The camera made me pukey.
Isn't it a Bijani Pain Trance?
LOL funny my cat's name is also Monster :D
He is getting ready to reprise his role as old doc Soong without the need for makeup.
stupid camera keeps trying to refocus on the peoples heads. I would have just posted the audio and a still shot of the guys talking. this was funny
