Жыл бұрын
Amen. Black women. This was an ode to black women. Chocolate shades because the industry wouldn’t never shown this many back women in one video. They shunned India arie and music soulchild for promoting us in a positive light. As a dark skin chocolate female and mother, yes we are ALWAYS criticized and bullied by black men for our skin tone and hair texture. Bullied for mine from 6th to the 12th grade in a small black town. But black men love the light skin girls with the long curly waves hair. The ones with the hood hair. Picked on us chocolate girls with the Afros and kinky ponytails. This video was perfect.. showed us and appreciated us in our natural form. I got lupus now which caused my hair to fall out which lupus affects primarily black women but anyway, more videos are needed. That’s why black women wear Indonesian, Malaysian weave. We were taught early how to hate ourselves and the black men in schools still do it today. If you get straight As, in a public school and got Afro puffs, you will be bullied by your own as well as the Caucasian kids. My daughter is a straight A chocolate skin female and is bullied for her combed Afro puffs by Many black males at her school. She’s in Beta so walking into a cafeteria full of white children definitely gave them a chance to turn their NOSE. It’s true.. if you look at the industry black men destroyed SERENA Williams but loved any female like Tammy light skin with the natural wavy hair and light colored eyes. Light skin females do not get treated the same. They get uplifted above chocolate and dark skin black females. It’s a fact. That’s why they came at Chris brown neck. His BMs aren’t chocolate. They mixed and his kids are mixed. Same with Nick Cannon. None of his babymommas look like any female in this video. Black men have been systematically abused to hate chocolate women. We need more videos like this… that’s why they took off the 90s black tv shows. They took off Fresh prince of bel air: Cosby show, family matters, a different world because it all showed black men and women in a good positive light.
I’m so happy about how real this depiction of us is. The media tries to paint us in one light that’s not even the majority. THIS is the majority! We are people! we are humans! We just be chillan and minding our business fr!

I love how this video is showing how black women and girls should be treated and how the song is about how our black women are viewed and sometimes not appreciated or called ugly just because of our skin color and sometimes this could be shown by other black people(mostly male) and how sometimes the world just don’t appreciate black women, and the struggle of a single mother. It’s just beautiful, I love how Brent isn’t afraid to show his love and appreciation for black women and women in general.
It don’t make any sense how underrated this song is 🤦🏾♂️

Nothing compares to a black man showing love and appreciation for black women. Thank you so much Brent. We needed this! 😢💕😢
POV: your waiting for it to start🏃🏼😭😭😭
I’m appreciative that’s it’s natural Black women in this video with natural bodies too (not saying there’s anything wrong with getting work done it’s just nice to not see the same silhouette) Black women with deeper skin and natural curls deserve to be celebrated as much as those who are lighter get work done and wear straight wigs but in this media it’s rare to see your average Black woman celebrated. We see you Brent 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I know you're feelin' down 'bout how they treat you Nobody understands all that you've been through And you just wanna get low, way so low It's hard to picture life being in your shoes You ain't in touch with your baby father You only get low, then it gets harder You said it wasn't love, but was an honest job You got your whole paycheck that says you get through I don't wanna keep you down (don't wanna keep you down) A nigga wanna raise you up, yeah (wanna raise you up) And someone gotta take you out (gotta take you out) Somebody's gotta show you off (gotta show you off) Who's gonna call you baby? And if I make you feel small (I'm here for you) Who's gonna love you crazy? I'm never gonna let you fall Honey, you ain't lookin' But if you're lookin' Then look no further Because you're worth it, girl I got all this love for you 'Cause you deserve it (fuck them if they don't see) You're black and perfect I don't wanna keep you down, oh (don't wanna keep you down) A nigga wanna raise you up, yeah (wanna raise you up) And someone gotta take you out (gotta take you out) Somebody's gotta show you off, girl (gotta show you off) Ooh, I just wanna show you what the world do (they do, they do) I just wanna give you what the world won't (yeah, you won't, yeah, you won't) Know that you won't never have to feel alone, alone (baby) I don't wanna keep you down (don't wanna keep you down) A nigga wanna raise you up, yeah (wanna raise you up) And someone gotta take you out (gotta take you out) Somebody's gotta show you off Oh, oh, oh, oh (ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh) Oh, oh, oh (ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh) Oh, oh, oh (ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)

This was such a beautiful song and video. It was nice seeing black women doing ordinary things and not being depicted as their stereotypical caricatures. He never misses!! 😭🔥
Brent blessing us again. He doesn’t realize how many people he’s help with his music but just want to say Brent keep going. To the women you are deeply loved and matter.
