I had never heard of Brennen until she played a small venue in a little cow town called Ferndale, CA. She brings you back to a time when people and music were real, and they played from the heart. Her voice, her smile and her lyrics are infectious, and she is in my mind, the very BEST country/western female vocalist/songwriter alive today. In the spirit of Hank Williams, Bob Wills, Tommy Duncan (who actually played here years ago), & Jimmie Rodgers, she is down to earth, playing to people that would never get a chance to hear real talent. She didn't make much money in our hick town, but she earned a lot of admirers. I cannot get her songs out of my head. To paraphrase, "If Brennen Leigh's voice was wine, I would be drunk all the time!" Thank you Brennen!

As a Aussie I just want to say....love Miss Brennen. "Obsessed With The West" is a stunning album as is "Prairie Love Letter". This lady is country to her soul. She is more country than many of those who get more airplay.....follow her. One day you will be right! ❤❤❤❤

Someone tell Brennen Leigh for me that she nailed it on the song writing. I am a nobody but I am always searching for more western swing songs and acts. It's like Christmas music in a way: it is hard to get past the standards and establish a new tuen as legitamate. I think several of Leigh's songs will survive to become Western Swing standards: "Texas With a Band," "If Tommy Duncan's Voice was Booze," "You're Doing it wrong" and "Obsessed with the West" are all solid songs that deserve to become part of the canon.

Great music that made Texas and its sound so special. Long live Bob Wills, George Strait and Brennan Leigh music.
