Brenda, I know you are not with us any more, but I still remember when I was on the Border war in 1987/88.I had Bushman soldiers that use to go and buy your tapes and a big tape recorder with 24 batteries at a timeThere were 4 in one tent and everyone of them played their Brenda tape at full volume. You can think for yourself, the mixture that was coming from those tents. But we all loved it,because it was sounds from our country.

The whole of Africa dear, I am from Kenya and I knew brenda when I was nine or so, we would sing and dance to her songs without understanding the language, for us children it was the beat, Now 30yrs later, I understand most of them and it's even more touching, beautiful.. she was ours, as Africa. And thank you South Africa for producing such an icon.

My father 😭peace to his soul...he was a big fan of Brenda peace to her too..it’s thanks to my father that I knew him in the years 1999...we were all sad in our family when my father announced his death one morning...we were all sad as if she were a member of our family...it’s true that I’m Beninese from Benin 🇧🇯 but I loved him..this morning I tried to see his stuff and I’m very happy to come across his songs that I had listened to since childhood today I’m 32 years old 🤩 and I understand a few words better Of his songs... may God grant him eternal life as well as to my late father. Amen
