I studied Social work in College and my husband studied mechanical engineering. He could not wrap his head around social sciences. Twenty two years later, we watched Brene’s Netflix special and he got it! Brene’ taught my husband vulnerability! It has changed our lives! Last year for Christmas all he wanted was his own copy of each of her books! He’s read them all numerous times. I wish I could hug her!!!

I ADORE Brene and Engineers have a different way of thinking, that's just facts. My niece is married to an engineer. That's why some people can be astrophysicists & other people, like me, say Don't tell me, it's too overwhelming & my brain cannot comprehend all that! God BLESS your husband for opening a new area of his brain and God BLESS you for your work in social services!

    1. The ability to rumble with vulnerability. Don’t tap out when things get hard, including giving or receiving feedback 2. Learn how to live into our values through behaviors. 3. Build trust 4. Know how to reset and get back up when you fail

I've used "everyone is a leader" as a core premise behind human growth and development trainings that I developed and conducted for decades. That people don't seem to understand that everyone has a role to play and influences people around them is beyond me. You can be a positive leader or a negative leader. I don't think a negative leader that gains power is good for anyone's future. So when people try to say that Trump is brave, they've lost me. Brave people don't other people; brave people don't stoop to scapegoating and name calling. He does.

If you ask the questions 'What's the future of leadership and who's going to be leading in 5 or 10 year's time?' and then accept and publicise the answer 'We need braver leaders' as valid or in anyway 'useful' without trying to redirect your respondents to clarify their response, and make it applicable to the questions you actually asked ...maybe don't start pontificating or obfuscating. Self help, buzzword, unawareness. A Joseph Smith for the modern age. I thought of that whilst in the cheap seats, but dared to type it only once I was in the arena...at least that's the story I am currently telling myself.
