I believe the 'palomino' dilution you're referring to is actually called Champagne, and it is a real gene in horses! It lights the base to that silvery-tan color, including on black horses (while cream, the gene that makes palominos/buckskins is only on red horses like chestnuts and bays) and black champagne horses are called 'Classic Champagnes' :)

It could also be Dun! Especially considering that in real life, Thoroughbreds are known for carrying the Dun gene. I do love that double dilute gene in the last one, and it makes me wonder if one of the parents also carried Champagne...

A little tip: When your foal is grey, if the inner leg area is dark grey, it’s gonna be like a glossy black. But if it’s inner leg areas are lighter, then it will be just pure grey. Hopes this helps!

Good to know. Early on in the game on mobile, I managed to breed Lemon Drop, a pure white. I am only on level 13, and even though I have used gold to breed my mares with black market studs, I have received no black horses. Not even hidden genes. Lemon Drop, a stallion, has given no more whites.

Daylight is actually a black. Not the regular black but the fairly new exotic black. Maybe that would be a cool video, because there's so many new exotic blacks.

No she's a dark bay because the base colour is dark brown and the dialutionis making it look different (if there is a dialution). ❤❤

Hi! Just wanted to kind of clarify dilutions for you. So the dilution is not just palomino. It just means the coat color is diluted. A diluted chestnut makes a palomino. A diluted bay makes a buckskin. A diluted black makes mouse grey. Other dilutions can include champagne and dun. Hope that makes sense! Your videos are very cute.

A diluted black actually is called smoky black, but smoky blacks tend to look like a normal black (at least irl). So either rival stars made that gene show incorrectly on black coats, or it could be a champagne dilution. A champagne dilution on black is considered classic champagne. I’m thinking it’s more likely to be a champagne dilution because it’s more realistic. :)

I have NEVER seen a coat like the last one. Its absolutely stunning!!!

The dilution works like in dogs I’ll use Border Collies as an example I won’t go into all the colours they can be I’ll just stick to black and liver So a Black Collie is black with white markings The dilution of black is called Blue and will come out as a grey/silver/blueish colour that we call blue A liver collie is brown with white markings and the dilution of that comes out as this sort or Sandy colour we call Lilac or Isabella All dilutions have a base colour but the dilution just makes that colour lighter With dogs you have a gene (D) A dog with no dilution copies will be D/D A dog that has 1 copy will be black or liver but will carry the gene D/d and as long as breed to another one that carries the gene you can then get the blue or lilac puppies Dogs with 2 copies show the dilution so are blue or lilac d/d

Palomino is a cream dilution. most white-ish horses that have pink tints on their body or just their nose/around their eyes are double cream dilutions. that's about as deep as my genetics knowledge goes lol.

Oh my all the foals are so pretty! also just so you know Tinted Twilight's coat is actually called a "grullo/grulla" I'm pretty sure. it's a relatively uncommon coat in horses.

I thought it was buckskin but there are different shades to grulla coats as well as buckskin!

Hi! Paint horses are a breed (like with specific certification) and pinto is a horse color. It doesn't matter which pattern the horse is; unless the horse is part of the paint breed, it would be called a pinto. I hope that helped to clarify a couple things :D

Since playing this game I've gotten back into how coat colors and patterns work in horses. I've grown up with horses since at least age 3, but I wasn't that interested until I met my moms current horse, because he's bay roan. I was simply so fascinated because I didn't know that color existed; I knew of blue and red roans, but bay roan? Wha'? And it's such an interesting color in and of itself because he looks bay in winter, but then has a grey body, with red head and black points of a bay left, in summer. I'm pretty sure the dominant and recessive aspect of coat colors and patterns aren't a factor in the game, but it's still really cool

The 'palomino' dilution you're referring to is actually a Cream dilution, and then you also have a white/gray dilution in both mobile and PC versions of the game too. For Black, there are technically two shades of black, there is black and jet black. A Jet black horse coat will have a bit of a blue shine to it, while the black will turn brownish from the sunlight bleaching their coat and making them look more like a dark chocolate brown color.

Great vid, I love the rival stars breeding vids. For another video you could do breeding most unique horses and get all of your unusual coloured horses and breed them.

I think that what happened with Tinted Twilight is that he had a cream dilute which caused him to be a Smokey black which was to be expected considering the parents both had hidden cream dilutes and black base coats.

Abigail the coat color on Various Spaghetti you can custom create it in the custom creation lab. It’s towards the end of the coat colors. I made that coat color countless times for a variety of horses. I absolutely love that coat color.

Thought I’d help with the paint pinto struggle! So since this game is a raceing game you only breed thoroughbreds, meaning you can’t get a paint. A paint horse is a breed of horse while a pinto is a colour pattern. Hope that helps😊

That last foal is such a pretty color

Here is a great tip on getting blacks. I found out that white with black family tree could give you black since their hidden would be black and the same thing with the white. So if you like whites and blacks, I would definitely go for this route. I personally like the palomino as that is also pretty but not sure if it could give it blacks. Definitely go for the white and black horses for breeding as they were successful for me!

Dilutes are really cool! Cats also have dilution genes, if you see a grey cat its actually a black cat with a dilute gene. Silver tabbies though are a totally different gene that makes silver tabbies that colour

trophy touch is gonna be so freaked out when he learns that his mum is actually his grandma too LOL

Rival stars should totally have the dam have a bigger stomach and have the sire be there supporting her in the foal stall(unless multiple breedings are done with the same stallion, it could go to the first breeding that was set up and when you meet the foal, they then both greet and nuzzle it. It should also show the dam, the sire, and the foal all on the homescreen. Also once the foal is skipped to stallion/mare it goes to the second breeding set up)!

Tobiano paints have their colours going over their spines while overo paints don’t. So if it has white patches and they go over their spine they’re tobianos but if the white doesn’t they’re overo. Also the difference between a paint horse and a pinto horse is that paint refers to an actual breed (the American Paint horse) whereas pinto refers to the pattern and isn’t tied to a specific breed.

Facts i got from the breeding wiki: Special Note: There are no "relatives" in this game. In most cases breeding horses with same pedigrees is beneficial (vital) if a player is breeding for stats or rare color. What this does is reduce the options for the algorithm to pick from. Of course, if one's horses have low stats or extremely common colors, it would not be wise to continue breeding those together. Chapter Goal Requirement This is pretty straight forward, the goal will specify what requirement needs to be met (whether it's grade, gender, track preference or stat level) Example breeding goal Achieving Higher Grade This is also pretty straight forward, you simply need to upgrade your foaling stall to allow the "next" grade above what you are currently breeding. You can breed 2 of the same grade together for a small chance of the next grade up. Special Note: A foal can only be one of two possible grades, the same or one higher than the LOWEST Grade parent, so it's not beneficial to breed more than a few Grades apart in most instances (there are very specific exceptions, you'll know if they apply to you) ;) Trying for Higher Stats The Official Breeding Guide explains that a foal's stats are directly affected by the parent's stats, but also have a small random chance of being something completely different. When breeding for stats, never cross more than 2 Grades (in other words, the grades you are breeding should produce or be produced by the intermediate grade (example; Grade 2 x Grade 4 = Grade 3). Strategy Tip: Most long-term players prefer to breed in a "capped" foaling stall, which forces the random-breeding-algorithm to only allow a certain maximum Grade (usually the one they are trying to improve on). Stats can rise or fall between breedings, you should replace the mare or stallion if a filly or colt is produced that improves on that parent's stats. Tip: If a colt is produced that has same stats as the stallion, you can breed him back to the mare before selling, this gives you an extra "generation" of stat increase! Breeding for Rare Colors (Updated Feb 2021) This is now the least random aspect in the game. A foal can only be one of the colors that either parent carriers. Only a few things are set: Patterns: There are 3 "levels" of patterns; "Basic" - these can be attained by anyone playing the game, through breeding or directly by gold market purchase; "Star Club" - These are exclusive to Star Club members (using Star Club stud farm stallions) and occasionally available on Live Event Prize Horses; "Premium" - These are only available on horses bought for real money (which can then be bred to try and pass on the pattern) Rarity: The base colors have a 'rarity' hierarchy... (rarest) White -> Black -> Brown -> Chestnut -> Bay (most common) You will have to breed horses with same pedigree together to increase your chances of the rare colors. Special Tip: It's highly recommended to breed for colors with LOW grades (Grade 1 OR Grade 2), due to the short wait-time and ease of gathering resources. Since most foals will be sold, these foals sell for "profit" (i.e. more than the breeding cost)

Strike Sea is my fav horse from this video even tho its not a black horse. also dilutions are like cream chestnut with 1 dilution gene = palomino.

One time (I was new to the game so I didn’t know this but..) I was breeding and I got a dapple black. So I did what I usually do is if I don’t like the coat (don’t hate me this) I sell the horse. So I sold it and I regret every minute of it.

The Dilution that doesn't change the color to a lighter color is Champagne which on the first would be Classic Champagne. I'm going to guess the second with the reddish color is bay which would make it an Amber Champagne. On chestnut it would be Gold Champagne. "Palomino" which turns the horse palomino (over chestnut), buckskin (Over bay) or smoky black (over black) is called cream. Double cream results in Cremello (Chestnut), Perlino (Bay) and Smoky Cream (Black).

It would be interesting if you made three family lines of black, white and palomino or something and breed them together to see if they will throw back to one of the sires.

So two drops I believe goes for double dilution. Like cremello is double dilution of chestnut and perlino is double dilution of bay. One drop is single dilution? And for example palomino is single dilution from chestnut and for example buckskin is simple dilution of bay. I think single dilution of black is smoky black? not entirely sure..and it get a little more weird on champagnes. There was a funny game on internet where you could chose horse genes and you saw output as coat color on horse, but unfortunately its forever lost as it was flash game.

QUESTION: What happens when you breed a dark grey stallion with a bay mare. (I'm writing a story and I want to know genetically accurate how the foal would look)
