I would love to hear a video on line breeding. Every time I talk about line breeding my frenchies people loose their shit. Line breeding will give me the longer snout that breed desperately needs. Grand father grand daughter breeding these two is gonna make some 🔥 pups

I’ve avoided those type videos because a lot of people don’t understand the concept, they think any type of inbreeding is just terrible but it’s actually how breeds get started. Too tight obviously is bad but without some form of inbreeding we get no consistency. The DNA tests help breeders become more comfortable and knowledgeable making line breeding decisions if you ask me. Especially since I’ve had some help with knowing what COI is safe.

​@prideofthesouthlandkennels if I'm right, your litters COI will be about 18 . 9 which will be a 12.5 jump from the dam. So you can expect about a 6 % reduction in size and maybe some infertility issues. But the pups will be like 75% genes from the sire so will cement his traits well just keep an eye out for unwanted recessive genes popping up. Don't worry what people think this is a well established way of creating new lines. Best of luck and God be with you 🙏

So typically parents to offspring is 25% COI and full siblings are 25% but this is just averages and it assumes 0% before the breeding. DNA can determine actual COI which is sometimes higher or at times lower than what we get on paperwork but it is definitely more accurate. Through DNA tests I’ve seen parent/offspring breedings result in slightly higher COI %. Typically around 33% - 36%

@@prideofthesouthlandkennels Understood. I’m still going to wait another year for my first breeding with Norman Bates. We’re visiting the breeder today just to check in. He’s 9 months so I feel it’s irresponsible to do anything at this point without further evaluation. I got like 12 months to learn. Still needs his embark and ofa. Then just need to make sure he’s seizure free.

Looking forward to meeting you, brother, and surely interested in your bulldog productions 💯🔥 I've got a full APBTxAmericanBulldog/APBT and by far I'm amazed by the overall specimens qualities as well as their natural instincts of the breed and I'd have to say these dogs are fairly loyal to mankind and undoubtedly good with kids as well 💯

Doubtful that we get any but I honestly never know until we see the pups. With us being able to see the traits test portion of the DNA tests on this family of dogs it’s more likely to have piebald dogs and actually more likely to be brindle than black. Female is a very dark brindle but most people think she is black. Her parents were both brindle piebald and the Sires mother was also brindle piebald. I’m thinking that’s what we’re going to end up with throughout this litter but possibly a predominantly white pup or two.
