I learned this breath technique about 10 years back from a pain management specialist. I still use it daily as a way of eliciting calmness in my entire nervous system, body and mind [particularly in these stressful times]. It is a most effective technique, especially when used to clear the mind of worry prior to going to sleep. Highly recommend it.😊

Hi! I am brand new to your channel and brand new to the concept of controlled breathing other than the basic forcing it to slow down, deepen, belly breathing, be aware of your breathing etc. I don't know a single anything about it. I tried a beginner Wim Hof and almost passed out (not one from here). I'm trying to manage depression, anxiety, chronic pain, thunderstorm induced ptsd (due to a major accident), and basically not flipping out on my young children. I have exercise induced asthma and was born with severely underdeveloped lungs. I feel like my ability to move oxygen generally sucks. Anyway, sorry for being long winded (haha). I'm going to try this one later.

It would be great if you could talk about the benefits of the breath (or breathing techniques) that are used in meditation with an actual meditation teacher or someone who has meditated for a long time. Like do they use any special breathing techniques to get into a deeper state or if they are irritated or angry (or any other emotion that they want to change) can or do they use the breath to help and if so how.

This was very relaxing to do, but if anyone could help me understand an issue I had while doing this exercise I would greatly appreciate it. So, after a few breaths I started to get a headache the pain was in the front over my right eye, why did this happen could I have been possibly doing the exercise wrong?
