This was my first ever RPG. Would've been my all time favorite if I hadn't discovered Golden Sun; but it's a close second. The one thing I will never forget about the game is the railroad scene where Ryu is lying on a moving empty freight train and I just remember how beautiful the BGM was and the colors and it just embedded in my brain.

Every one is a gem, Yes even Dragon Quarter. Personally I welcomed the challenge plus the combat was exquisite.

If you beat the game with Ryu equipped with the broken sword, you’ll get an extra ending scene with chun li as well.

I applude this reasearch! I can't wait for your covering of the other Breath of Fire games :D

About the 9x Cure for 4500 G thing. While it would be a good value if true, somewhere else in the game that can be accessed normally (where exactly escapes me at the moment) also has "9x Cure" for 4500. If you elect to buy the "9x Cure" you're actually sold 9x Life Items instead, which makes sense as in that very screen it's shown that a Life Item costs 500 G, and 9 multiplied by 500 = 4500, and Life Items are located directly above the supposed 9x Cure.

I am really enjoying your Breath of Fire content. I'm excited to see later entries for sure.

breath of fire Holds a special place in my heart! It was my first RPG and opened the door for Tons of others. I Still own the Prima Guide book.

Thanks for binging BoF! I hope you get a lot of fun playing Bof3 which is my absoloute fav although the majority favours part 4 for several logical reasons. Yet I always cherish this one as the best as it hast the best story development and a lot of drama and emotions which is missing in Bof4 overall imho. Looking fwd to all the videos of course!

I would stay home from school in elementary to play BoF 1. There are quite a few RPGs I would get lost in when I was growing up, and I loved this so much! I'm currently going back to experience BoF 2 and 3 on my modified 3DS. Thank you for the awesome vid! definitely subbing as there was info here I'd never knew!

6:50 sounds like codes used for debugging or playtesting areas. Probably what it was and they just forgot to remove it or figured no one would do that ever.

Thanks! I wasn't aware a manga of it even existed in the first place along with the Street Fighter code.

In Breath of Fire 2, there are two enemies located in the grand church where random battles are disabled. also the warrior mini boss is found in bando which requires stepping on a switch for a long time. gargoyle resembles the red arremer.

I'm a HUGE fanboy of the series. I knew all of the facts for the game except for those secret hacks. I remember listening to that unused track ( when u to enter the hidden bar ) on another video. Otherwise great content you posted. Still holding out hope that they bring back the series one day.

The game doesn't tell you that you can use the E-key as a weapon, helped alot in early grinding

I just discovered that you can get Chun-Li in her pink outfit when you say “No 24 times” and Yes the 25th time.

Great video!! I was curious as to what your source is for Squaresoft localizing BoF1 "in lieu of Final Fantasy V" as I wasn't aware that BoF1 had anything to do with FFV's cancellation? Also WHERE can I get that issue of Ogopogo Examiner??? Also would recommend listing your sources / video sources, either at the end of your video or in the description, as I noticed some of it came from the BoF fan group channel.

Hey mate. Sorry for the confusion. FFVs localisation was cancelled for various reasons and because of this they were able to localize BOF1. It had no impact on whether or not FFV was localised. I'm thinking your only chance is on Ebay auctions. They've popped up from time to time over the years. And the video from the BOF channel was referenced on the bottom left of the video as the clip was played :)

Breath of Fire 2 was the one I played first, and i got hooked to the franchise!

I loved this game

It's a shame that Capcom let this series go by the wayside. In the SNES and PS1 era, these games were amazing!

Great on the SNES, but not as great on the GBA Advance because of its lightless screen. Here's a joke straight from the 90s: *Why did Ryu punch the road? Because he's a Street Fighter.*

This is the only BoF game I never completed, I was near the last dungeon and my save game corrupted(wiped out GBA ver) back in the day......

There are other places that sell Cure x9 but it's a typo. It's actually Life x9. If you look at the pattern of what the store sells it makes sense.

I only knew about the chun li one to be perfectly honest. It's still a great series in which I've only played two entries of the series but i have fully completed and permanently retired Breath of Fire III for the playstation 1 and that was quite a very difficult game to complete due to the horrible item drop rates.

I've heard mostly good things about 3 so I'm looking forward to starting that up soon.

It is a pity that in the US they censored Karn. I actually liked the original look and I do not find it stereotypical or offensive in any way.
