Bream Fishing, Soft Plastics PORT MACQUARIE NSW

I headed to the Hastings River in Port Macquarie for 2 days of kayak fishing. The first day I was targeting bream on soft plastics and the second day I was chasing flathead (flathead vid will be up soon).
Lots of big schools of small bait fish moving throughout the system at the moment and the bream and chopper tailor were smashing through them feeding.
Great winter conditions, no wind and the fish biting made for a perfect couple of days fishing.

I wish that the fishing was like that in Cairns, the water here is bright green from fertiliser run off.

Sad to hear that, nothing worse than pollution in our waterways.
Nice day for it, both my pb bream have come from that canal where you are fishing at the start, both 45cm targeting jewies with a yakka under a float as there is basically no current. There is pike eels there too which can be a pain. If you are still in Port I know a few spots let me know and happy to share.

Thanks mate, I have left Port, just did an overnighter. It was the first time I have fished there in years. Will be back to chase some jewies soon though, nice spot

@@LoveYakken I've got a couple jewies at the weir at the start of your video, they get a few behind the rowing club too. The big ones are on the south breakwall near the bend at the caravan park, big soft plastics are the go
