This episode was basically a jab at other shows and their actors since a lot of them don't get along with each other outside of work, Jared and Jensen were instant friends since their auditions. It's also poking at the fans who think they act this way and other celebrities who act like jerks in real life. A few fun facts: Misha's tweets from this episode are real, he did tweet from the set. The alpaca was a nod at Jared and Gen because they went to Machu Picchu that year and their painting they had of themselves were auctioned off at a con. Some of the "crew" were real crew members but do different things than they did here. Jensen got married in 2010 so he was married here, yes.

Jensen was married to Danneel at the time, but he didn't want a whole lot of his actual real life in the episode. Jared didn't mind as much, but both of them were adamant that they stay as Sam and Dean in the episode. Pretty much everything was poking fun at the "real" world aspect of the actors and the show. Some of the people playing crew members actually worked as crew for the show, but most were actors.
You missed the freeze frame while they were crashing back into their real world. Jump cut to them landing, is exactly the shot Robert Singer was discussing when they crashed through the first window 🤣🤣🤣

This episode is literally one of the greatest in all television history.
You should watch Jared, Jensen and Misha at conventions, they're absolutely great and hilarious. It's like watching a gag reel.

Yeah i think the 4th wall breaking episodes are the best.
The wedding photo is Jared's actual wedding photo. They surprised him with it as a joke.
Just to say One of the little funny things in this episode is that every Misha's Tweet is actually real
They always got along, actually. It’s just a parallel universe thing :)
By far the best part of the episode is them actually editing the freeze frame fade to black when they went back to their world. I was laughing way too hard
No, J2 have always been friends, quickly became brothers really. This was just to poke fun at the fact that there are casts that do not get along. Everyone gets along on the SPN set, it's like a big family. I mean, actors who haven't been on the show for years, or were only in like one or two episodes will still go to Conventions and show up on set to visit. Actors who were never even in the same episode, or even season for some, are super close and all. The crew were all played by actors (though Clif, their bodyguard, the one who was driving them in the episode, the *real* Clif was in another episode. 2x19, he played Tiny the guy in Prison that Dean got in a fight with...) And the whole thing with how unbothered they were by Misha's death was also them poking fun at the industry and how some people really do only care about ratings and publicity. But it was *also* them joking about how Misha isn't one of the boys, as in Sam or Dean. Because while Cas is an important character and loved by many, there are some people who don't like him because he takes some of the focus away from Sam and Dean, and also he's seen as "less important" in the show because it'd still work without him (even if we'd hate it and throw a fit...) But really, everyone loves Misha (well, pretty sure there are some writers who aren't exactly fans, but, well, yeah...) and they know he completes the show. Danneel wasn't in it because both she and Gen get *so much hate!* People send them death threats and accuse them of being abusive or not good enough for J2. It's mostly "fans" being angry that the boys are married and so they have no chance (even though they wouldn't have a chance anyway, given that a lot of them are like, 12...) Vicki (Misha's wife) gets it too. It's awful. But the real fans all adore them, they're wonderful human beings and are perfect for J2M and are wonderful Mothers.
I can't believe they did an episode like this. It was so awesome.
I remember hearing a guest star stating it was very funny to see some of her friends that are actors play some of her friends that are crew members on Supernatural. The real Robert Signer was playing an extra in Changing Channels (we can see him clearly in the gag reel), so they paid actors to play any crew member that could be recognizable, but the way that they poke fun at themselves and even at Kripke in the French Mistake makes me smile every time.
it’s literally 2am but I don’t care I’m watching thissss
I think we saw Jared’s wife because she was an actress from the show so the shock was greater. Jensen’s wife wasn’t on the show so revealing her to the audience wouldn’t have given that “what the f” reaction
You’ve already heard Misha’s real when he played Jimmy Novak in season 4 episode 20 The Rapture! Also the director that named himself after Bobby isn’t the real guy cuz that fake reality director is actually Brian Doyl Murray who is actually Bill Murray’s real life brother & he’s also played in many of the same movies as his brother such as Ghostbusters 2 & Caddyshack also played on the early 2000’s series Yes, Dear & more!

1:24 Balthazar is one of my favourites. Doesnt hurt that i love that Actor from The Originals 😂
I love when supernatural breaks the 4th wall. Most of my favourite episodes are 4th wall breaking ones.
I love that they actually did break through the window which could be a metaphor for breaking the fourth wall lol
Jared and Jensen got along from the get go, and this episode is kinda making fun at other shows where the leads won't even talk to each other.
This episode is when you begin to wonder what the hell this show actually is
It's a jab at how a lot of co-workers on shows don't get along. They're all actors playing the real people.
Intersting fact- Kripke's death was essentially a throwback to Mary's. Similarly placed wounds, etc.
13:44 One thing I've learnt throughout this show - JDM is always busy.
The writers actually asked their permission to do this episode. They agreed right away but wanted to be this big parody of their lives and of the TV industry. 😂😂😂 It’s even funnier watching because the crew of SPN is also kind of family so all the directors and even their bodyguard, Cliff, fans know really well so seeing actors portray over the top versions of them is really fun too. Even Misha just being Misha but even more. He’s on social media all the time and some of those tweets he actually posted during the shooting 😂😂
this is one of my favorite episodes because it’s so ridiculous. i should’ve reacted to this one

Yeah. Also, what got me is that it was established in the first season that Sam had been in drama when he was at one of their many high schools, and was even in the school play. "Our Town" to be specific. So, some of that stuff he should have remembered as basic theater 101. *LOL*
This is kind of trippy 😲 watching a Fourth Wall reaction episode of Supernatural on the 4th of July
Oh Jared and Jensen are real close irl. It's a parody about how actors not getting along
i have been waiting for your reaction to this episode since you started season 6! ive never clicked so fast (except for on your wtfock s03e03 reaction)
Jensen and Danneel have actually been married longer than Jared and Gen. Danneel didn't want to be on the show because she was worried about "fans" (I use the term very loosely) hating on her to the point of death threats against her and their daughter because they'd had some issues in the past (and maybe were currently having some at the time; I can't quite remember). Thankfully, she changed her mind and has been on the show since.

I wanna know where 'Jared' and 'Jensen' were during this time, they were supposed to be filming, right? And I'd love to see Sam and Dean at a convention or at least with fans 😂😂😂
You should find the commentary from the DVDs and the outtakes. They're awesome and answer some of the questions you voiced. Jensen got married before Jared, but Jared owns a house (not that one) in Vancouver. All the named workers are real people played by actors. Lou Bolo, the stunt coordinator is the only one playing himself. Danneel had never been on the show, that's why she wasn't included.

One of my top 5 episodes, hahahaha
I think that at the time there were rumors among the fans that Jensen and Jared didn't get along. So this was the producers making front of that. Also reason why Jared and Ruby (Forget her name) Had portraits of themselves to make front of the sayings that Actors are rich and stuck up full of themselves. I love jabs like this.

This is legit one of my top favorite episodes 💗
I love watching these reactions to newer viewers who don't know so much about the cast and crew yet. And everyone gets upset that Misha gets killed, not Cas...Misha! There are tons of easter eggs all through the episode added in showing how close they all are behind the scenes but so meta especially the footage in Jensen's trailer where they both wink at us.
They all had WAY too much fun in this episode, and it was GLORIOUS!
Jared and Jensen playing Sam and Dean playing Jared and Jensen playing Sam and Dean
*LOL* I think by this point, this show has salted and burned the 4th wall! Loved your reaction! This episode was mostly just a lot of fun, and clearly the guys and everyone else had fun doing it. A lot of the things you see in it are digs at the TV industry. (Kind of like how in that episode back in Season 2, "Hollywood Babylon", there were a lot of digs at Hollywood in general and some behind-the-scenes things from the show in particular.) Other people have mentioned how in real life, J2 get along great, but all those "At least they're talking" comments were a reference to how many times in the industry you'll have actors who are playing characters who are really close but irl they can barely stand each other. Also, apparently Jared did own a house there in Vancouver, but it wasn't anything like that. *LOL* In some con vids when they were asked about this episode specifically, J2 said that they were actually asked about their real selves making appearances on the show, and some talking happened back and forth, and the result was that the guys didn't want to play themselves, but they were okay with playing Sam and Dean having to pretend to be them. And they were okay with some things from their real lives being referenced (like, the wedding picture we see is actually from Jared and Genevieve's wedding) but for the most part they didn't want it reflecting their real lives, and were okay with it blowing things out of proportion. (Also, Misha apparently specifically asked for his "character" to be as douchy as possible. *LOL*) Anyway, this is a great episode to rewatch and just look for easter eggs, especially after you start watching con videos (if you ever do) and start finding out more about these actors. Loved your reaction!
Many fans say this is their favorite episode for good reason.
This was my favorite episode eveeeeerrr...i have been waiting for your reaction since you started 6th season
The director in the episode is the creator of the show the real Bobby 'Robert' Singer
Apparently Kripke loves his death scene! He loves as much gore as he can get and thought it was so cool. This was the season after he left the show. They killed him but it was really a nice hat tip to him for the 100th episode
Originally Bobby was only supposed to be in 1 or 2 episodes and producer Robert Singer named a character after himself. But then Bobby became a fan favorite and kept coming back and now is one of the few regulars and one of the most beloved characters of the show
One of my favorite episodes!!

The best episode ever
I don't think I've ever laughed so hard.
I always love to watch reactions to this episode! The more we know about the show, actors, crew... the funnier it gets! I just found out few days ago what does "french mistake" mean. It blew my mind! In a Mel Brooks' Broadway musical they used this expression to reffer to the unease situation that happen when two same gender straigoht people have sex and then they regret it and feel very uncomfortable about it... I always thought those references abou Jensen and Jared not talking to each other meant that, in that universe, the actors didn't get along... But it seems they got too much along in some point! I love how the script team deal with the fan's ships in a subtle way, not making them canon but mentioning them in some episodes and making the characters react to them! That's a very clever, wise and funny fan service! uproxx.com/filmdrunk/mel-brooks-explains-french-mistake-blazing-saddles-blu-ray/ www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=French%20Mistake

The Urban dictionary always has the most extreme definition for any expression; while the song in Blazing Saddles is speaking of same-gender sex that is not a regular thing for the people involved, there is nothing stating that they are very uncomfortable about it and would avoid each other or stop talking to each other. I think the title of this episode is mostly about literally breaking the fourth wall (or the fourth window), like in the French Mistake scene in Blazing Saddles, but it is funny to include a little Wincest into the mix.
Hahaha I always loved the comedic type episodes of Supernatural best. I mean I love the entire series but the comedic ones are best .
I don't think they broke the 4th wall, it was a meta episode, but breaking the 4th wall is talking directly to the audience (people seem to forget that breaking the 4th wall came from theaters it wasn't invented in movies or tv, ask bertolt brecht)
Best Supernatural episode ever.

Why are all of your T-shirts so cool
they were actors playing the parts of the crew members, but they did play the actual people on the show.
The not talking thing I think referenced The X Files set as a lot of the crew (and writers) over the years had worked on that show too, and by the end of that show the two stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson didn't talk coz they hated each other so much. They are fine now, apparently! The Supernatural set though was known as one of the best and the Js relationship was good from the start.
One of the greatest episodes of Supernatural, and another in the series of brilliant meta / parody / just generally weird ones they did, especially moving forward. People who say Supernatural should have ended at five seasons just do not get it.
The thing about them not talking is that they are making fun of other shows where the actors dont get along.
