I was an NRA member for a few years in the 80s. I found that most nonprofit foundations beg for people making a few $/hr for dues; then spend lavish amounts of that money on self. Not many people you can trust. I recall a story of a couple who were sent on some sort of mission by an organization. So long ago, I forget what it was for, but I was impressed that they accomplished what they were asked to do. When the organization assigned them the job, they profusely apologized for not being able to give them enough in funds, but the couple was frugal and actually brought some of the money back. Most people will spend every penny they can!

My membership just expired December 31. I have not renewed and I’m not sure I ever will. I’m going to wait and see the direction the NRA takes. I want to support our 2A rights and like you said there are other ways to do it. But I don’t want my hard earned money lining some corrupt millionaire’s pockets.

LaPierre should have been voted out years ago, but the Board just would not do it. There's no way he should be allowed to resign, get a huge severance, and go quietly into the night. He must be held accountable for how he has corrupted the NRA, regardless of any criminal indictments that might crop up. NRA badgers me continually to renew my membership, and I consistently tell them I'll consider it when LaPierre is gone. Now that he's going, I'll wait and see what direction the organization takes.

I’ve been a member since 1981 and although disappointed in some of the things that have gone on we need the NRA to be strong because no other organization has their clout. Even through the messy period the Institute for legislative action has done a lot of good things for the 2a community that nobody gives them credit for. But yeah glad to see Wayne LaPierre go. Hopefully we can get someone in there who will do the right things for the 2a community.

Great video and I agree with you KP. This is my take on it. So he resigned and I am not surprised. Good riddance is what I say. The following is conjecture and opinion on my part. The stories of his fall are all over the Internet, therefore I won’t go into any details regarding that. All I will say was I, personally, never trusted the guy and every time I saw his mug, I got a bad vibe. Also, I got sick and tired of the NRA promotions offering a safari or trip with Wayne LaPierre. People must be blind not to see that all LaPierre wanted was an all expenses paid vacation so he whips up a membership promotion. There’s much, much, more concerning his so-called leadership, decisions, and compromising. So much so that I quit the NRA many years ago. FYI, I’ve been a life member of the GOA for a long time now. What I’d like to see is a complete housecleaning, restructuring, and streamlining of the NRA. Oh, and get rid of the old boy’s club, the Fudds, and the compromising just so the NRA can claim a victory. Were these things done, I’d join again, for what my membership’s worth, and I’m sure others would as well. With that said, good luck to the NRA, you’re going to need it, and thanks a lot LaPierre for torpedoing an excellent organization and giving the Leftists a wet dream. Enjoy your golden parachute, the members paid for it. Addendum: I would not be surprised if this is just the tip of the iceberg of the corruption in the NRA hierarchy. Only time will tell.

I gave up on the NRA after Trumps bump fire stock executive order. Trump said he has the backing of the NRA so I just gave up on them. Bump fire stocks are only range fun but shouldn't be banned because of one crazy person in Nevada. Where is the $260 bucks? If the Government tells you it's ok to buy a product and then changes there mind the NRA should have fought to make them buy them back!!! All yours and my money went to Wayne!
