The image of the idol receiving the child for sacrifice is more commonly known as Moloch,. It is said that Moloch worshipers would build a fire in the base so that the statue would heat up, then they'd throw the child into the fire or place it into the burning hot hands of Moloch. The Israelites in some cases adopted this abominable form of worship (Jer 19:5).

Great presentation and aerial photography. I was there 5 or 6 years ago, hiking the Israeli Trail, and was most impressed by the main city gate on the eastern wall of the ancient tel; everything was buried in ash but you could see how large the gate was by the size of the excavation pit. You can actually drive to this site, or atleast to the kibbutz that lies to the west of the old and shares its name.

thhseeking - interesting comment considering for decades most in the archeologist community refused to acknowledge the Philistine (the sea people) and Hyksos empires existed because it proved Hebrew “mythology” true. Just like many American archeologists today refuse to believe that no people existed in North America before the Clovis regardless of the mounting evidence otherwise. I believe the bias statement is more true than most are willing to admit.

Yeah, so far, that hasn't worked for me. Bush was supposed to Let The Banks Fail in September 2008. Then declare martial law, when the riots began, and then, suspend the election, until it could be rigged, like the 2000 election. McCain would have been President, and the US would already have bomb-bombed Iran. There Never would have been Obamacare, an Iran Nuke Deal, or a Paris Accord. That's why Trump told the Republicans to "Blame Bush." Know what Bush said? "I did not want to set that precedent as President."

@@thhseeking The funny thing, is that while some people may hardly object the idea that the Bible id partly a historical doccument (while certain parts of it were proven to be accurate depiction of historical events of that time) because it's the base of many modern day religions, they would still accept other documents with supernatural elements and inaccuracies JUST because those aren't connected to modern day religion.

That alphabet is a variation of Hebrew and Aramaic which started at least eight hundred years before that. As it dates back to 2000 BC. They did not invent the alphabet. That is a second incarnation of alphabet, it follows the entomology of the original Hebrew. The actual dating probably goes back to 3000 BC near the end of the Sumerian Empire which eventually became the Hittites, as well as the basic Mesopotamian construct was an extrapolation of same. So for all intents and purposes. The Canaanites were a part of that group that the Israelites came out of when a Sumerian named Abraham asserted himself. Good video, assuming facts not in evidence aside. Whenever studying ancient sites you should keep your mind open to at least two to three interpretations of what you're finding.

@Amalgamaite my guess would be the ladder given that I believed the story as you tell it. But you're following far too close to the biblical when not everything happened in the chronological order that the Bible places it. However it is an astute observation, one that I hadn't considered however I still believe that the Canaanites were far too fractured and had far more dialects. Or they would have been a more cohesive group and the Hebrews never would have been able to move into their land if they were more Unified. Remember that Abraham was a Sumerian. Moses was trained in the courts of the Pharaohs. Have they had a lot of information on history. However it was from their perspective. And from Adam true to David and all the way through to Yeshua. The Hebrews are identified with one unique trait. They were all Redskins. The Sumerian writings and other historical information and even storied information is that the other five races existed before the adamic race of the Bible. Genesis chapter 2. The other five races with a black, the brown, the yellow, the olive, and the white. Adam came along to correct their lineage starting the allegory of the fig tree.

"What archaeologists found instead was that already centuries earlier, from the turn of the second millennium B.C.E., strong Levantine influences become apparent in northern Egypt. Semitic names, burial customs, architecture, weapons and other artifacts attest to a large presence of Levantine people in the region already in the heyday of the Middle Kingdom, long before the infighting and division that characterized the Second Intermediary Period." Ancient Egyptians were very closely related to Levantines. This also includes other North Africans who descended from pre-historic Levantines. ACE I only just read yesterday regarding the strontium in Hyksos dental remains northeastern Egypt. It was on the Google News. My interest was due to a possible claim that there was No Hyksos “Invasion” but rather a slower migration from the north and the strontium results would support a mixed identity. So my statement regarding the Mittani in no way precludes other Canaanite tribes. It is Edgar the Hyksos brought the light spoked wheel into Egypt along with paired horses of a different origin than the species Found onMesopotamian sites and the heavy solid wheel. Such horses could have only originated in the Eurasian steppes and been brought south through the Caucasus mountains into the general area of modern day Georgia and Armenia. This would have brought this technology along with Bronze weaponry through the Mittani, Into Canaan and Egypt.

@@lindamorse7463, Being critical is not the same as being "judgmental." I don't know about you, but when I was a kid and then all the way through my university education, the mantra that schools tried to hammer into our minds was "Critical Thinking." You don't just take a thing as it is. You look at it, you weigh it, you turn it around and evaluate it. If you test your evaluation and it is incorrect, you have to be humble enough to adjust. That is what teachers have been teaching for decades. Stating my personal (and that's as far as it goes in regards to inherent value) evaluation of a thing in clear, concise, and fair terms is a perfectly acceptable and reasonable use of my grown up, critical, mind. It would be "judgemental" only if I sat in judgement of the man's person. His charater and worth. I am most certainly not doing that. Basically, this was a paragraph-long response just to explain to you the concept of grown-up conversation.

YES there are 2 main theories 1. That pre-flood history has been conflated with post flood history so the seas-faring people could be the Atlans or related to them 2. That post flood before recorded history a great seafaring people populated the Mediterranean [also the people that would be responsible for the ORIGINAL civilization that later would become the greeks & the Pharaoh's in Egypt]... alternatively the people that were the progenitors of the vikings believed to have come from the black/caspian seas but really came from the north & settled in the area... conquering & then being conquered Under theory #1 you see that latitude was known way before the english watch maker figured out that to measure latitude you do not do so directly by measuring distance but you do so by measuring time & position a & position B at those different times! Maps that were REPRODUCTIONS and constructions like the pyramids offer PROOF that the ORIGINAL people descendants of Adam the first man were far advanced that secular history teaches... then they got wiped out in the flood & all the EMERGING people's from Noah INHERITED the construction remnants and tech/artifacts/maps etc etc This explains how the construction that 'ancient' people built was INFERIOR to that which it was built upon/adjacent & for the mythology that GOD's once roamed the earth & would return hence many civilizations seemed to be care taking these discovered remnants waiting for a return of the Gods that built them.

@@K3vinK There's no proof of any pre-Bronze Age human sacrifices to pagan gods, only biased speculation. Human sacrifices were made by warrior cultures to their respective war gods in more recent times. These sacrifices were the POWs - generally speaking, the women and children would be the "spoils of war" as they were seen as assets and not threats as captured male warriors were. One should bear in mind that the late Bronze Age was a time of unprecedented conflict, and many formerly peaceful cultures were either conquered and absorbed into the new warrior societies, or developed defenses of their own out of necessity, for self-preservation, such as the various Amazon cultures. Bel, or Baal (meaning, Lord) was also venerated in Chaldea, and later became El of the Canaanites and Israelites. More recently, the worship of Jahweh was amalgamated with that of El or the Elohim. The Bull of Heaven is the Male Principle of the Universe and symbolizes virility, protection and strength. All of the pagan goddesses and gods are symbolized by their sacred animals.

Speculation is okay as long as it's informed speculation and doesn't become dogma. It gives researchers a starting point that they can use to verify ideas or discount them. Nothing should ever be set in stone and should be ready for revision upon new data and evidence. That's how knowledge and science advances. Dogma stultifies learning. In fact, learning becomes useless if it's only there to validate your dogma. You are right, though, that too many take the speculation and it becomes a rigid aspect of their belief system.

The ancient Nephilim giants of the Bible had 6 fingers and 6 toes. You will find their story in Genesis Chapter 6. They were the hybrid offspring of fallen angels and humans. They lived before Noah's flood and again after the flood. The Nephilim interbred with the Caananites and those were the giants Moses had Joshua kill so they could take possession of the Promised Land. Some of those giants escaped. They will be seen again during Tribulation in the end times (recorded in the Book of Revelation). Google the Kandahar Giant of Afghanistan for a recent giant encounter. Our military killed a giant and brought the body back to the US. All info is now blocked. You can still find old KZread interviews with military personnel that were involved - check out L. A. Marzulli who investigated this case. This giant was over 13 feet tall, 6 fingers and 6 toes, double rows of teeth, bright red hair and beard and weighed 1600 pounds. Oh, and by the way the Nephilim were cannibals. This giant killed and cannibalized a whole group of US soldiers. They could not stop him with bullets until told to do headshots only. Interesting, because David killed Goliath (6 fingers and 6 toes) with one stone to his forehead. The Bible does not tell us how Joshua killed the Caananites giants. www.gotquestions.org/Nephilim.html Here is another example of giants, this time in America. See attached link for the missing ancient Anasazi tribe, neighbors of the Navajo Indian tribe. They experienced an incursion of giants (cannibals). legends.atavist.com/the-anasazi-legend-where-did-they-go

Pretty interesting. I subscribed yesterday. There is a lady on KZread that keeps telling people that the Jews were not monotheistic in worship. That is to say they worshiped other Gods. I dont know what her point is. The old testament states clearly that the Jews returned time and time again to the worship of other Gods. Each time they were punished. The lady is trying to say that the Jews were NEVER monotheistic. Yet there were generations that in fact were.

Well, you have to remember the winners write the history. Some archaeologists believe the Hebrews were actually just people who broke away from the Canaanites, which explains why the bible tells the story of the struggle the monotheists had to keep the people from going pagan. They had such trouble because the Hebrews originally HAD been polytheists, distant relatives probably still were, hence the ease of Hebrews intermarrying with local pagans.

@@GunDrone - that's one theory. The other is that they were pagans trying to move onto a monotheistic religion. Archaeologists found a shrine made out to Yahweh "and his Asherah", meaning there were some Hebrews who believed Yahweh had a wife.

Cool/really interesting video. I was going to contribute my two cents as well: while I don't doubt or disagree with the findings covered in this video, it is worth noting that most recently archaeologists are leaning toward the theory that the Israelites did not in fact wipe out the Canaanites as described in the bible, but rather they actually moved in and assimilated with the Canaanites. The evidence for this is in the actual cultural continuities between Canaanites and early Israelite habitations. A lot of the pottery and structure designs were very similar. Off the top of my head I can't think of other specific continuities, but you can find both videos on you tube and journal articles in archaeological academic journals that cover this in more detail. Its not quite clear why the Israelites wrote about themselves as having moved in and taken the land by force, but it is worth mentioning that the stories were written a fair bit after the occurrences took place and its possible that they were wrote of the ancestors as conquerors partly as propaganda and also as a means of establishing greater claims on the territory (i.e. it was more heroic to have come in and taken the land by force of arms rather than to have moved in, intermarried and settled amongst the locals, gradually asserting more control of over time while adopting many of the local customs. Now, there absolutely were massive over-turnings of some of the major powers around this time period, but its likely that the Canaanites themselves were a faction of the "sea peoples" that invaded the area and helped to bring down the Hittites and others - with the ancient Israelites moving in a bit later.

Irish DNA, particularly Western Ireland, Counties *Kerry and Cork* (happens to be my lineage) reveals the Basque lineage and the Basque lineage indicates Ancient Markers that reflect: origins of influence from "the Levent, Anatolia, and Canaan" (a variable that supports the Danite subject) + (and I might add this was a digging deep to finally gain a Journal of Science article, highly detailed in lab specifics of a host of variables and markers used to validate its findings, i.e. "not One's preferred reading for pleasure experience" 😐) This subject would be a welcomed documentary. One that is noticeable in its absence. There are few but worthy details on the subject that can be reached via Google Search, with patience and in efforts of going deeper into the offered matches. The Basque have an Oral History and I have developed a position on the subject of Oral Histories as they continue to be validated through Archaeology find in artifacts and texts, neighboring peoples history accounts, as well as DNA studies. (Basically the modern mainstream academic minds, 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries, have made some assumptions that, over time, have not served the greater facts nor the opportunity to secure a greater content of the most accurate historical factual stories. Their inability to "understand the information from the era's methods of speech, definitive meanings, and symbolism" created assumptions that earlier humans were somehow, fully in numbers, limited of mind compared to themselves and the current era of studies. I seem to continue to discover that it is far more prevalent that that concept is reversed. 😔 In an effort, and it requires effort, to not react to this, but to hold to the teachings of my higher education and that specific to "The Ethics and Methods of Sological Research, Data, and Statistics" which I've come to realize may very well be, the most Scientific and Ethical comprehensive statement of "Standards and Requirements" for Research and Confidence in its Findings, including: "research methods, collection of information, protocol for staffing the project, and individual's commitments in researching any subject" *and these quite definite on the "do not research in an attempt to prove a theory or opinion, rather set the mind's goal to the Standards and allow the Outcome Information and Data reveal the greater Facts.". This is not what is revealed in observing other Professional's works, save Quantum Physics. QP is the other Ethical Research Standards I value. If I were in a position to research and had the staff and tools for Production, the Basque and subsequent Irish Subject of lineageis one that I would set upon achieving, even if I felt I should step back and allow another to head the project due to my personal lineage and any potential preconceived ideas. I believe the Basque OralvH8story and I hypothesize that there very well was a potential that they first migrated East, and later migrated West. Hope to encourage a source for this project. 😘 HaPpY St Paddy's Day! 🍀 March 17, 2020 ..it's actually "Mary Beth" Bartlett. My lineage is Kerry and early some Cork and I'm Rh(-) as well. 💚🍀💚

"Chariots are thought to have been first used as a weapon in Egypt by the Hyksos[1] in the 16th century BC, though investigation of materials long held in the Tahrir Square Egyptian Museum has potentially revealed the presence of chariots as early as the Old Kingdom (c. 2686-2181 BC).[2]" Yes, this is from Wikipedia, but it does cite sources. I didn't feel like going on a deep dive on this one, but I couldn't remember myself.
