My comments above would agree it looks promising; I'm in ACC Country but I look @ every Conference closely, and w/ AFFOLTER, like STUELKE, a potential All-Big 10, possible Player of the Year, help from TAYLOR MCCABE, & O'Grady, and their Incoming Freshman Post Player, who's name I'm forgetting, IOWA looks post-Clark ready to be a Solid @ worst; IOWA ST looks a bit more versatile on Paper, but OLSEN adds Scoring Punch; That, along w/ who can scoop a Recruit and/ or Portal Pickups will offer more clues.

Fantastic news! I understand that we only have one scholarship to give and they decided to use it to recruit a point guard. Maddie Scherr from Kentucky was going to visit on Thursday after Lucy. I was hoping Lucy would commit. I'm sure Maddie would have been great too, but this is HUGE for Iowa! I love that we can continue the play style we are known for and I think Lucy will be the perfect fit for that!

CS in ACC Land (NC) in the US; I analyze all or Most of the Leagues; Haven't checked to see if REAGAN BEERS (Oregon St.) made a decision after entering the Portal; U CONN, UCLA, or LSU may have the Inside Track to land her, but she's very good; A Most likely Top 5/ 10 WNBA Lottery Pick in 2025 wherever she goes, and IOWA would be well-served w/ her on board 2 free-up STUEKE add rotation flexibility; w/ her; She may have Visited IOWA CITY or talked to the coaches, no telling. They have a nice Post player Recruit incoming for 2025, and if I'm Correct ADDISON DEAL won't be on campus until the 25-2026 Season; Top Guard, not sure which Number, but she's Ranked either 18th or 36th in the Nation.

Now we need a tenacious D player to replace Gabby Marshall. We really need some HEIGHT that's aggressive & strong in the post to help Hannah. Hannah's aggressive play really started to spark this year, but some of those big girls were able manhandle Hannah even though she really dug deep and fought hard, so it'd would be great to get some more of that with a little more height and size to have two down low that can be rebounding beasts on both sides of the court.

Nice content... but... at 2:10 while discussing her stats, you say that she played for UConn ....

Olsen, Sydney and Stuelke make a very good nucleus. Stuelke should improve on being stronger holding onto the ball and better body positioning near the hoop. Syd just needs slightly better defense and a couple of more points a game. Kylie makes for a good 6th man. So they need to replace Kate Martin's versatility (rebounding, efficient scoring). Who are the other two starters?

Next season, the team will have four girls over 6.3 . That can't hurt.

This is the closest thing to Caitlin Clark you will find. Go to the Villanova women's basketball site and check her game by game stats. They're pretty impressive. Unfortunately for Iowa, they have no more scholarships to give and are still missing that critical piece - the aircraft carrier in the middle. Stuelke has problems when she goes up against players with big height advantages over her.

Does not remind me of Caitlin. But she does remind me of Paige Bueckers. She has a similar midrange game as Paige. That is where Caitlin needs to improve. This is a great one year player and then the 5 star player from the West Coast can take over. Now they need a 6'4"+ Big. They get this and they can compete on the national stage, legit.

Nestor and Lutmer where chatting on campus about how good defense is and their goal to shut down Ohio State.

Hearing S. Anderson/K. Wetjen/J. Buie/A. Price at WR have all stepped up their games...but a WR out of Oregon could be coming if NIL is right.

Now they decide to get good players. If they would have gotten another scorer, they would have two natty by now. But they need to add a big girl, Huelke as much as she is liked she is not a starter. She is too small and some games she just disappears. When you are the starting center and the coach has to take you out in the final minutes of a championship game because you couldn't make a layup, than you got some work to do.

I'm thinking of Taylor McCabe, who has been very loyal in sticking with the Iowa program while Gabbie and Kate came back for their 5th year. Good luck, Taylor. And, just fyi, if you enter the portal, there is at least one Iowa fan who wouldn't blame you. Just sayin'.

Players only have until May 1 to get a new team in order to play in the 2024-25 season. So quite likely McCabe already would have if she was going to enter the portal (risky to wait until now). I'm sure she has known for a while that Iowa would be getting someone in the portal. Plus she is getting a civil engineering degree and would have to consider the program for that elsewhere in addition to basketball which could complicate things. Two guards who would be playing next season had ACL tears and figure to miss a large part or all of the upcoming season. So if Iowa didn't get a guard in the transfer portal they would be very thin at the position and only a couple of injuries away from having no guard depth. That happened to some teams this season. McCabe is going to get a big playing time increase in the upcoming season which would happen with or without Olsen. If she looks better than Feuerbach in practice she should be a starter (that is her only realistic competition). I wouldn't blame anyone in any situation for entering the portal. Everybody has to figure out what is best for them.

I'm disappointed that Iowa went to the portal.

Another name to come to the top of the pack is Chase Brackney.

I compare her to a Marshall style but more scoring.

she's 5'9 but she has long arms, which make her a huge of problem for defenders

The only problem is that no one has heard of this girl . McCabe only averaged 7 min pg and still lead the team for 2 year in highest 3 point percentage. What a waste it was having McCabe on the bench for 2 freakin years. A wasted she should be able to get one of those years back.

At a time when women’s college basketball is becoming more and more popular because there is increasing parity with more great players spread more evenly across the country, this trend of great players transferring to the top programs of the day to create super-teams will reverse the recent advances that have benefitted women’s college sports in general. This trend reverses the parity progression and takes women’s basketball back toward tho old days when just a small handful of programs reigned supreme over the entire country for decades. This will return the sport back to the one sided lop sided boring blowout machine it has recently been putting in the rear view mirror. The NCAS needs to put done restrictions on the transfer portal for all sports to hold players more accountable for honoring their acceptance from a school, a scholarship that could have been given to someone else who would have honored the commitment. Players should have the ability to transfer penalty-free once, but after that, they need to go back to the one-year sit out provision that prevented transfers from causing the chaos we have today.

Looks like a good fit. BUT I feel bad for her former coach at Villanova. Denise Dillon is a class act and always recruits classy gals. Transfer portal is out of control. 😮😮😢😮😮

What a big get for the hawks! I didn't have my hopes up with basically every big name school wanting Olsen services. Here tape is impressive ! I really love the step back midrange shot. That is near impossible to defend . And can school in so many other ways. Haven't seen much of her passing but I have no doubt with her ability and the team around her and coming in she will fit in just fine into bluders high assist up tempo offense. Her recruitment wasn't huge out of high school and wasn't a huge 4 or 5 star kid. She was in ranked overall similar to Kate Martin coming out of high school. It's impressive seeing her improve year to year. She has had to earn it by putting in the work and it's paying off. I had a feeling seeing her she would fit our system as long as she wasn't looking for a big nil payday compared to what other schools could give. Have a feeling this was fitting in somewhere vs $$$. I hope she can come right in and form some nice chemistry. My only question is what happens with guard maddie sheer from kentury ? Are they still interested in her as well? Or was she the backup in case Olsen didn't pan out? It's interesting with the coaching change at Kentucky and Moore coming in from Virginia tech (and the whole team and staff filled and liked maddie also on socoal) that no other school but Iowa has shown interest in her. We all know bluder lloves to play with lineup full of guards.
