Three overseas Filipino workers in the United Arab Emirates reportedly died due to the severe flooding that hit the desert nation. In an advisory on Thursday, the Department of Migrant Workers conveyed the sad news as it extended its deepest condolences and sympathies to the families and relatives of the departed Overseas Filipino workers. “With extreme sadness, we report the death of three Overseas Filipino workers during the flooding in UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. Two Overseas Filipino workers died due to suffocation inside their vehicle during the flood.
One other OVERSEAS FILIPINO WORKERS died due to a vehicular accident,” DEPARTMENT OF MIGRANT WORKERS officer-in-charge Undersecretary Hans Leo Cacdac said in his post on X. The department assured the families of the three Overseas Filipino workers of its fullest support and assistance. The DEPARTMENT OF MIGRANT WORKERS Migrant Workers Offices and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are working closely to provide all assistance to the families of the three Overseas Filipino workers. They are also preparing to distribute relief goods, basic necessities, and other essential items to OVERSEAS FILIPINO WORKERS communities in Al Ain and Dubai.
