Hi I've just picked up a 1968 12hp wheel horse looks a lot like the one you have. it's not running but my plan is to use it for the garden .... I was thinking of trading it for a 1970 sears that running but your wheel horse seems to be eating the dirt pretty nicely would you recommend keeping the wheel horse ?

Simon Leclerc I'm gonna lay it on the line buddy. Keep the Wheel Horse, good tractors. This one, after he's done working it, be nice to sand her all down, prime it, sand the primer and paint her. Then get the mower deck on it, and start mowing grass with it.

They would most often be called “sweeps” On eBay when you enter “S Tine Danish “ you find a large variety of types. I just today repeated his experience. It will work. However the narrow “chisel plow reversible points “ save a lot of stress and strain on equipment and old guys and go deeper. Unlike a true “turning” or bottom plow the soil that covers the grass isn’t very thick. The grass dries out to a high percentage but doesn’t really begin to rot and nourish the soil. And you will have to use the shallow cutting teeth several times. If you have a turning plow take the time to use it if you don’t then use what you have.
