The only bright light of the game for me, played his heart out.

We play well and lose and everyone is unhappy. We play averagely and win and SOME are still unhappy. Why not just enjoy the moment, because at the end of the day it’s not going to change your life.

Absolutely disgraceful performance yet again, anti football, no desire to win the ball or play it forward. One win in 90 mins in 5 games! Also how many shots on target again? Subs used too late again, and not full complement used. Southgate just can't help but prove he isn't a manager, never was and never will be. I have no idea what game linerker and the BBC studio were watching

Great goals/penalties. But, as much as I love our England side, why is it always more exciting, on the edge of seat, fast-paced to watch other teams like Nederlands, Turkey,Spain,Slovakia,Georgia etc? Where's the spontaneous firey energy in our England squad? Defense and strategy can be very boring viewing.

England tournament ‘highlights’ would last no longer than 60 seconds. More tedious than a night put with Jacob Rees-Mogg.

England fans have done nothing but slag the team and the manager off and im English born and bread

Finally found a formation and approach that allowed us to play the ball forward and dominate possession against a very good and well drilled Swiss side. Best performance yet and building nicely. Great team spirit too.

3 🦁 ☆ Roaring & best passer, forced to sit on bench, but comes on & pounces like a Lion to nail the 5th pen. The biggest stress & pressure any player can face is the 5th & deciding penalty. Cmon Gareth, if u start Trent as wing back by using foden as a impact sub (as he has done very few great plays & cant handle long humid summer days & short hot nights) With Trent starting at right wing back we can win remaining games in 90 mins. Pen KOs are NOT a lottery. It takes real bravery & top skill & 🦁 monster mentality !

At what point do England actually start playing football? As a neutral they are a horrendous watch. They are the international equivalent of a Mourinho team. Why can’t they actually play football, given the alleged ‘world class’ players they have? They have literally played sh*t for 99% of this tournament. No patterns of play. No system. Nothing at all, really. It’s bizarre. A penalty shoot-out saves them. They don’t even look that interested. If they win this thing, they will be the most unworthy winners since the deeply crappy 2004 Greece team. It’s the ugliest anti-football I’ve seen since Scotland. And that’s a deep insult to Scotland! It’s quite clear if there is any footballing justice, Spain should win this thing.
