    NO ONE gives money for non-compete in the tech industry. They usually are of the attitude: SIGN IT OR DON'T WORK HERE!!

    And healthcare. Right from the get go when they threaten me and my family I know not to work there or maybe have to work there but do the bare minimum and act dumb

    I'm in roofing sales and it's no different. I had to sign it or not have a job.

    @@tlove2108 Honest question: Is there ANY properietary data that you have that could wreck your employer if you used your knwoledge at a competitor? If not, then it's 100% predatory!

    @@hopeseekr I've been wrapped up in noncompetes for the last 12 years. Everytime I get a new job title it's "you have to sign this". I know the pricing files and sales plans. Sometimes the future roll out sales programs. Edit: and of course there are no raises unless I'm taking a different title. They have given " cost of living raises" that don't even come close to cost of living. I'm just stuck.

    Cry about it. You wanted free market? Well here you go, labor can do whatever it wants. You have to compete on wages
