Breaking Down the 2024 NBA Playoffs (So Far) | LeBron James & JJ Redick
Welcome to Episode 7 on Mind the Game with LeBron James and JJ Redick. This episode was recorded last week, shortly after LeBron and the Los Angeles Lakers first round series against Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, and the Denver Nuggets. LeBron explains why he thinks he, Anthony Davis and the Lakers lost the series and what simply made the Nuggets the better team. He also opens up about how he's personally feeling heading into the offseason. Then, they get into some of the observations and takeaways from other series' in the playoffs including; actions that make Jamal Murray, Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks), and Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers) the most dangerous. They also share what they think gives Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert, and the Minnesota Timberwolves an advantage in the playoffs, what it's like facing elite defenders like Luguentz Dort (Lu Dort) (Oklahoma City Thunder) for multiple games throughout a series, and much more.
Subscribe to Mind the Game with LeBron James and JJ Redick today for more NBA insight, analysis, highlights and more.

Bru what are you talking about??!! Dude doesn't say anything worth listening to. I don't know where people get this "he has high basketball intelligence" from. Y'all can't know much yourself. And I'm not being a LeBron hater either. U LeBron lovers needs to start giving examples of what LeBron say that's considered as basketball intelligence and worth hearing so I can laugh. It's nothing like when MJ talked basketball and I'm not even a Jordan fan but u can listen to him talk the game all day! These guys are boring.

@@ashian23x46 the fact that you don't acknowledge the work they put in to be great. And can’t seem to enjoy a first-person account of the event is concerning. Go let Stephen A. or Skip explain to you what LeBron was thinking. You're on the sideline thinking you have more IQ than a declarated NBA veteran (arguably the goat). Whatever these players say is gold. Because their account is the real account. Everything else outside of the stats is speculation. A person who enjoys learning about basketball and not speculation will enjoy this content.

Just like LeBron..saying a lot of nothing. Arguably the goat! In your eyes maybe but we have eyes too. And in my eyes all I see is a man who just wanna drink wine and agree with everything JJ Reddick says. I guess fouling while up 3 was interesting but only players these days think about that because: one, they don't play defense. And two, all these cupcakes think about is the 3 ball. I asked u to give examples of his high basketball knowledge. If you're right, I'll agree with you. I can give u plenty that MJ said and did that would be considered as real basketball intelligence.

This podcast makes it crystal clear that basketball is a team sport. It’s 5 on 5, and having better players often means a better team, but one guy doesn’t “will” the team to a win. There was a time when illegal defense was a thing that players could really go 1 on 1 to get a basketball “at will,” but that hasn’t existed in a while (and it’s debatable to what extent that was actually ever the case). The NBA is such a treat to watch

Well, you obviously say the truth. I'm so tired of the all the like "X guy is 5-0 against Y guy" Wtf? It's not a 1v1 competition. You don't win alone. You can make a team better, but at the end of the day it's team. And coaching. And 526 other things that can determine the success of lack of it. But nooo, mostly Americans love their "X guy took this team by himself to finals" or "X guy is not it cause he can't get his team to play offs" Wtf?! The whole discourse surrounding NBA is so ridiculous that it's actually unbearable. Honestly

I just browsed thru the comments and mine is pretty similar. No bias, no crap. no clickbait, no dramas, just being honest, debating the game, the strategy, the options. It's my fave NBA podcast. And yes, it's absolutely love to see Lebron just be himself, laid back, debating his tradecraft, his insights, etc. I really hope they keep this going. And yes... JJ Reddick should become the new Lakers coach :)
My fav eps so far 💯
your show is one show that I will actually sit and watch the entire thing ... not even realizing it was an hour and my food needs to be warmed up again. Until now. This show works, even from different locations. It's still good. No worries on that one. Good edit with the footage playing too ... nice Double screens with space. Anything getting you more time to set your shot is gonna help the results. Can't help but learn from this podcast ... (54:56) I would say any time you can get an open look, be it a 3, then sure as many as you can get, it's more points. But is has to be a clean look. Always or mostly favor the clean look if you can. Even looks better from a team point of view as well as highlights. Cheers!! Nice show ...
This podcast is perfect for JJ Redick's resume to be a head coach.

I love this show so much .. I'm nowhere near being a NBA player . BUT loving the game of basketball and understanding what they're talking about makes watching basketball so much better
Perfect Timing For This Episode
easily my favorite episode yet
What a great podcast this is, thanks king👑
JJ keep up the great work. Enjoying every minute of these talks. It doesn’t even feel like im listening to a podcast.
Jamal Murray watched this episode and remembered his role 😂
For a long time, I had been thinking who truly was going to be the face of the league? Ja had a chance... but spurned it. Well, now we know. Anthony Edwards is here.

Why does it have to be an American? I doubt Ant every becomes the best player in the league. It’s Jokic now with Wemby coming next.

Are you guys watching the Playoffs? AE looks cut from the same cloth as MJ and Kobe. And has the athleticism that makes you watch every moment. Jokic, Luka and Wemby are great, fundamental basketballers, but from a marketing perspective and for the causal viewer, the jump out the screen type, AE is it.
This was the best episode of the pod so far. Lebron seemed at his most relaxed and comfortable. At times in previous episodes, I felt like some of the playful banter was a little forced but it seemed much more natural this episode. The chemistry is evolving and the analysis was obviously top-notch💯

I think it’s more he’s in his offseason space now. He can just kick back and speak on the game without planning for a series. But agreed the JJ relationship is also evolving as the series does.
we like these. keep up the good work
🔥🔥🔥 this one is going up. Great show!

These 7 episodes have been gold for someone who loves the game and wants to learn it in detail. I've learned so much about the game I love and I've been looking forward to watching basketball games, to see these plays implemented
This explains everything 👍 Love this episode 🔥👏👌

I swear this blog has been created for JJ to show and become a coach 😂
this podcast is effing great and because of it i am watching the games with a different set of eyes, thank you both
Every clip and episode is a feels like a gift to my basketball soul
Because of Spanoulis in World Cup 2006, Team USA went on the rampage in international basketball winning the Olympic title in '08, '12 and '16 and the World Cup in '10 and '14.
I love basketball. I love this podcast even more.
Awesome!!! Very therapeutic
This is good stuff, no bs hot takes just for clickbaits. Jj asks good questions not like the ones in espn who didn’t even play in an NBA game. Players responds well to players who know the game. Pure basketball
Please make a special exception to the drop every wednesday thing and drop yalls take on the timberwolves 2-0 lead and how they shut denver down game 2
Damn! LeCoach predicted so many Nuggets/Wolves plays correctly.
JJ asking "did you bring wine" is so me 😭😭
This the greatest basketball conversation ever. Appreciate you fellaz 👊
Can’t believe I sat down and watched a full podcast. Absolutely love this

I'm a casual basketball fan but can't miss a single episode of this.
The bit around 7-8mins hit me. I just finished my Masters thesis in Counselling on self-care to prevent burnout. I was so happy to hear them talk about "not switching off" as it showed their reality. I had wondered about burnout at that top elite level & also whether they have mental health help especially in techniques to be able to switch off. At that level, 82+ games per season, always focused, always travelling, everything focused on work...
Don't take this for granted. We got the GOAT doing a podcast series. Don't see this every day. MJ could never...

Love the show! One little thing that would increase the quality of the product would be to add timestamps with individual topics to your video!
