Breaking down KODAI SENGA's Debut - Early pick for ROOKIE of the YEAR?
Спорт
NY Mets Pitcher Kodai Senga made his spring training debut. The 30 year old rookie shows some filthy stuff, hitting 98.6 mph on his fastball and throwing a wicked ghost fork .... making a baseball completely disappear.

That overlay of the fork and fastball is INSANE. I have no idea how you hit that.
It’s weird to think of Senga as a rookie, feels like I’ve been hearing about him forever

Totally agree.
I’m really excited to see Senga Pitch even though he’s on the Mets but those ghost split and upper 90s fastball overlays are gonna be insane
Even as a non-mets fan, im super excited to see this guy pitch. his ghost fork reminds me of Devin Williams Airbender -- how does anyone ever hit that thing??

Is there even such a thing as a NON METS FAN??? Is there any other team to root for??? (Just kidding😂). Please excuse this myopic METS fan over here, but even if he were not a MET,I too would be intrigued by this guy,as well as all Japanese star imports writ large.Just stoked as a fan of the METS/blue an orange even more so still of course.LGM!!!
I really like your approach of evaluating and reporting pitchers. In one of his interviews I saw a while ago, he said one reason of having the giro spin in his fork, which he does intentionally, is to make it more difficult for hitters to see what's coming. I didn't know about the other reason you mentioned! Since you've been checking him out for some years, did you notice how happy he looked during the interview? During the interview after the game, he sounded so excited, and I hadn't seen him that happy before! That's probably because he had been trying to come to MLB for a long time, and I'm happy for him already!
His delivery reminds me of Nomo, without the tornado windup. His big lower body combined with solid mechanics makes him seem durable and consistent.
Great breakdown. As a Mets fan, I wasn't really sure what he was going to bring to the table. Now I know lol
MLB really needs to get the quality of the balls under control, for a forkballer like senga that slick a ball could do damage to the arm and obviously it could hurt everyone else too
How about doing a breakdown on Shintaro Fujinami too...I know he wasn't successful in NPB in the most to latter part of his career and probably he exhausted himself mentally figuring things out. But I think a fresh start even if he jumped to MLB can revitalize his career. And I think currently him and the A's are a match made in heaven!

His command has been the main issue. But thankfully the As are a low pressure environment where he can work on his stuff
That sweeper is good
Dude is 30 years old, past his prime as a pitcher, and yet he's still this good... No wonder the Fukouka Hawks didn't want to give him up.
Max is going to make him better I second rookie of the year
That ghost fork is plain old nasty!!!! 😈
Slider can be a pretty dangerous pitch these days, health wise. Puts a lot of stress on that forearm etc.
It looks like Lindor is wearing one of those hats with fake hair attached to it

My Cardinals looking too clean cut. Mikolas mustache is all we got. Every team needs some flow. Yadi used to go blonde, Carlos Martinez hair funkier as he fell apart and Bader grew a wonderful main before leaving.
he certainly looks better than Yusei kikuchi when he came over.
How do you even hit that forkball while expect any other pitch? I mean… I wouldn‘t be able to hit that even if he told me where to hold my bat 😂

The answer is you don’t. Let him throw the ball in the dirt 4 times and take your walk and then punish his hanging cutter when you see it. I think this guy is gonna give up a ton of walks and home runs this year. Just one mans’s opinion tho.

@@giantspiderproductions3356 I mean the whole point is that it nosedives like crazy as it comes towards you so there is no way you're knowing anything until the last second and you've already swung.

@@giantspiderproductions3356 His fastball looks like his fork but it doesn't drop down completely so good luck differentiating between a middle-middle fastball and his fork

Yep. I talked about the struggles.
The fact that you think he’s gonna have any meaningful conversations with the 2 aces through an interpreter is laughable.

Don't be a clown. I interviewed Senga for an hour. It's absolutely no problem to communicate via an interpreter. Terrible take.
