Cyberpunk Edgerunners is not just an awesome anime, it's also a warning...

Really good video. I like the message. Only minor nitpick I had was that David wasn't addicted to video games. If anything, his hobby was something much worse and that would have proved your point even better. His hobby was to watch these things called BDs. These are something like dvds except it is a literally full body experience in another person's shoes. While you dont have control over what happens, you get to see, feel, and taste anything that the person recording the video felt. Including their emotions. His hobby was to literally escape his own life and experience someone else's. Based on what we saw on ep 1, he mainly used them to experience porn first hand or the final moments of someone going through a violent psychosis. That's definitely worse than video games, imo. That being said, David was actually helping to sell those black market BDs at his school, so he was already pretty enterprising.

I completely agree with you. Strangely enough, I found Edgerunner's and Cyberpunk 2077 a hopeful story. Yes, the world is broken and it probably won't reward you for your efforts. But you can still take control and make a difference, even if it's small. You can still become a legend.

The fact people still think what David was doing in the first episode is astonishing. That is NOT a video game. That is actual footage, from the very eyes of an individual who went on a murder spree.
