People in the comments justifying use of the N word because rappers use the N word in their music need to grasp why hate speech toward any demographic of people commercially is a major part of the problem. Rappers are paid heavily to speak disparagingly about Black people in a way they would never be paid 1 cent to speak in a disparaging way about Jewish people. One derogatory offensive remark about Jewish people and it would immediately be labled antisemitic, not art, not pop culture and not a popular acceptable thing to do. Also, rapper's who choose to speak disparagingly about Black people and promote violence against Black men, women and children, their music is purchased predominantly by White people. Their concerts attended predominantly by White people as well. Not all Black people support Black hate in rap music. The rap industry is not Black people's culture. It's an industry that exploits the by product of years of untreated, undealt with RACISM. Rap music is anti-Black and exploitative of how people struggle to cope with traumas stemmed from RACISM. Rappers using the N word doesn't justify it being used. In fact, supporting and finacing hate speach should be banned and record labels fined for promoting violence against Black people and Black communities. It should be labeled a hate crime. Rap music is anti-Black communities. If you made a song about gunn!ng down Jews the way rappers speak disparagingly about gunn!ng down N words, a derogatory hate word used to describe Black people, and see how far the album gets. You'd quickly realize how it wouldn't get far at all. It would be DOA, dead on arrival. You could never mock the trauma of Jews and threaten to go onto a Jewish persons block and place one's Jewish opp into an oven. And yet, record labels pay millions upon millions of dollars for Black rappers to mock and commercialize words, imagery and violent tactics used by White people during the Black Holocaust, slavery. It needs to stop. Stop financing Black hate. It perpetuates the idea that Black hate is acceptable when it isn't. Which is why you and so many others also think Black hate speech in music is okay. It's not okay. It's racist, it's anti-Black.

He got blowback from his public display of ignorance, and he responded by taking a step back to figure out what happened and why. Talking about it with honesty, an open mind, and a willingness to be present and accountable is how we learn and grow. I think it’s also a positive move that he and his manager made an effort to calculate the financial gains generated by the spike in sales of his work with the intention of giving that money to groups dedicated to addressing historically underrepresented artists. He is saying he doesn’t want to profit in that way from his mistake. He is exemplifying how to make amends. As Pema Chödrön advises: “Start Where You Are”

Why don’t they ever talk about how the “n” word is widely used all the time by all races because it’s so common in mainstream music. They act like people really say it out of hate and because they’re racist. I live in a big city and i hear it used in every day conversations not only by black peoples but by my fellow Hispanics and also white people and even Asians. And not once have they said it out of hate. They usually use it instead of “dude” . I’m 28 now but growing up I used to listen to mostly black artists. Because I mostly listened to hip hop and rap. And I always sang a long . Not once did I say it out of hate . I was just a kid singing along to the music that was main stream. You sing a long now to that and it’s blasphemy. I just find it so difficult now a days how we must walk on egg shells

Its not good at all to use a word of hate though, because then you become desensitized to the word, while when others hear it they feel emotions attached to the word. We all have our right to our opinions and as I stand, I believe that the word is not acceptable at all to use, but that doesn't mean that other people see it like that. The general consensus as it stands in America is that white people are not allowed to use a derogatory word or statement in any context, whilst it is some what acceptable for people of other races to use derogatory terms applicable to their own race, and even some others. Yes there is a double standard to it, but that's not the main issue at hand, racist thought is perpetuated when words (and thoughts) like this are used and Morgan being white really doesn't help his case, seeing as he doesn't walk the shoes of the word he used.

Or un every other rap song out there today, So I noticed them using that word while gaming or when I was taking a sneak peak in their texts. Not in a derogatory way but in I'm cool too way. Needless to say I was pissed I tried explain and talk through the issues I had with them or anyone using that word. And they said old fashion and I didnt know what was up. There black friend called them the N word they were not offended nor were their black friends offended. On one hand I said my brain said ok they are taking hurtful and normalizes it to the point that it has absolutely no impact, thats a good thing right? But my heart knew that history can not be forgotten because that is how we end up making the same mistakes. So I kept explaining kept giving examples and finally told them one day your going to get ass kicked and you'll the hard way. I dont know if my older son got his ass kicked but one day I never heard that word out of his mouth again and he came to complain to me about his younger brother hiding and using it while gaming. It takes a village peole and if you dont want white people using that word black people stop using it in art and in music glorifying it. Because white kids look up to you I dont care what the media says. I grew up wanting to be Janet Jackson and my kids are growing up wanting to be xxxx .
