    One thing I definitely noticed about them was that a lot of the fighters sacrificed their speed and technique for more power. The haymakers and front kicks were perfect examples of this. The wild swinging really isn't even stronger than a regular straight punch. It might look stronger, but the reality is that it's simply not. I agree with what you said about the front kicks. They did look more like push kicks. One thing that I really liked was their throws and takedowns. They were clean, and fun to watch.

    I usually prefer push kicks or front kicks in Muay Thai style, it's good to push your opponent away to create distance and kicking doors in. The last part I think is more of a low hook kick.

  • @christophervalerio3919

    @christophervalerio3919

    I think a low hook kick would probably look like the way Andy Hug threw it back then in Kyokushin tournaments. Upper Body was upright but the hook kick came in low like a typical muay thai low kick. I would say what Miguel did was a back sweep. Back Sweep is what you call it in Tricking.

Sometimes because they're too emotional and out of control. Or other reasons. And it sorta applies here in Cobra Kai. You can basically say that whenever they're too emotional or out of control they fight stupidly and non-martial art-like.

Chozen also has this crazy fight in season 5 where he used Kobudo Sai against Terry Silver’s Katana. Really looking forward to seeing your reactions.

    In movies and TV shows punches are thrown wide so they can be easily telegraphed by the two actors and or stunt doubles to be able to react appropriately. Furthermore it's a way ofentertaining the audience as most average day people can see the shots being thrown and delivered. Same could be said for the kicks being able to telegraph them so they're not as proper form as they should be. Kicks are flashy and most effective in catching the untrained viewers eye's. Another reason as for this is to entertain those who are watching. Naked kicks for example those would never practically work because they can easily be seen, but for those who are untrained it's a marvel to see done and actually land. It's all for the purpose of entertainment.

    What you said about the front kicks, now unfortunately I am not a martial artist especially not a trained one, but I remember seeing a video, in which two karate martial artists met and talked about the differences in their techniques. One was training japanese karate, other the american version. I remember quite well that they pointed that out, that in american karate the front kick is supposed to somewhat "push through" the target, its point was more to not only connect but to push the opponent, put them off balance or create distance. Not sure how much truth was in what they were saying, but if that really is the case then Tory doing the frontkick that way makes in my opinion a lot of sense, because first, she's learning under Kreese and Lawrence, american style karate, second in her first apperance we get to know that she used to train kickboxing as well (not sure how are frontkicks done there but it might have something to do with the way she does them as well)

Seeing as both are real martial artists, particularly JDF (RIP) who played Tommy was an 8th Dan Black Belt in Karate and owned a big dojo in the USA, so I’d expect his technique would impress you. He did all of his fight scenes when not wearing the Ranger suit.

    Nat you know what, they are literal enemies they were fighting in anger to hurt their enemies , not to show their karate skills . 😈😈

    Hi Nat, i am a teenager who started doing kick boxing for a couple months now and i really enjoy your content. You explain the technique very well and it helped me learning new skills that i could even use in my training and some sparring. I also like how precise you explain what happens in these fighting scenes and if it‘s effective in a „real“ fight. My only problem is that i‘m pretty skinny and in another video you said that you are an ectomorph. Because of that i wanted to ask if u have a diet and if you did it would be very nice if you‘d make a video about it. Thank you for your qualitative and entertaining content

    the biggest shock to me is how wild they can throw those strikes and not slip on those slippery ass school tiles. Everyone knows how slippery those are and now imagine doing all the stuff we seen in cobra kai but with casual shoes and stuff on.

    Usually cobra kai series all characters actually has a split in 3 different dojos, and they learn each others karate technique from each other, but everyone knows each other's weak points eventually because they all started growing nothing at all to grow stronger and more skillful than ever :DD

    Def react to the other seasons. Also they have to do wide punches so it looks better and more clear on tv/camera. And to also leave enough time for the more amature fighters to block and not get as hurt.

    Straight arm swing around it’s not a karate moves, but if someone’s running at you, it is a s strategical move and it’s called a close line

    Putting his hands on their faces and shoving them away, a clothesline and a shoulder block to the knee before flipping them over. I'm not sure about the first move on what it was, but the second move and third move were both from a wrestler's playbook, especially a professional wrestler.
