@damulag-q7g An unknown job of a coach is to protect their players even if the coach has to take the blame. It's part of the job. At press time, there's not always enough time to formulate an answer that would be best for the team and an individual player in question. If you didn't know now, you know. I'm not a fever fan. CC played her ass off. But in the end, it's about the team. The team is not always going to be as good as its best player. That takes time. Chemistry and gelling as a winning team takes time. Be patient. And do some of you realize a coaching change halfway into the season could be a season killer more than a season recovered. Chill. Sides didn't make 23 turnovers and play horrible defense. What is she supposed to do? Sit all there asses down. A coach is on the bench being patient and confident that the team will correct itself. Thats showing confidence in them.They showed her that in past games. She knows things are not going to always go your way. She's a coach. Respect that. She's human. Respect that more!

Sides is clueless. This isn't the first time, that with the game on the line, Sides called on someone other than Caitlin to take the shot. I honestly think that by not going to Caitlin, Sides thinks she is being tricky. She only outsmarts herself. ...and WT*! Why does Sides pull Clark on defense? Clark had 5 steals and 3 blocked shots today and she gets many defensive rebounds. Clark is not a weak link defensively and by putting her on the bench you alter her flow of the game. If this were a men's league and Sides were a man, she would have been fired weeks ago. There is NOTHING in her resume that justifies her continued employment.

Sides cannot bring herself to accept that Caitlin is steadily training the weaknesses out of her game, and especially not this fast. A month ago, Caitlin's defense was indeed a weakness. Now she's got 5 steals and 3 blocks in one game. It simply doesn't compute to Sides: how can ANYONE do this stuff?! It's like she's actually as good as 'her lunatic fans' say she is. Etc. Sides is as in denial as the rest of the WNBA, and it shows in all her decisions.

The starting lineup was fine. Her making it patty cake, spin the bottle, in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. When she finally put in Lexie Hull again in the 4th, she made an enormous impact. The problem is she didn't stick to the change, and started swapping players in and out like a crazy person.

On this team, the assisant coaches need to tell the coach what is happening in the game. For example, Kelsey is 0-8 from 3; maybe we don't want her taking the last shot; or CC has 5 steals, maybe she should be in the game to try to steal a pass. Even before the game, did anybody say: we just beat the number 1 team, do we really want to change the starting line-up.

they didn't asked why did Sides call a freaking Time Out when the Fever was on 6 - 0 run ... why? that killed the fever's momentum and allowed the mystics to reset/regroup. And why didn't she call a time out when the mystics were on a 9- 0 run and a 12-2 run. This Coach is Horrible. and the last play she drew up for player who was 0 -9 from 3 in the last seconds of the game ... this coach is bad. CC made the game look close, without her, the Fever would've been blown out in a major lopsided lost.

Good coaches don’t have teams coming out flat after a big win. Then the adjustment is to replace 6’3” Samuelson with 5’8” Wheeler. Wheeler should almost never be in there. Clark almost willed the team to a win but down 21 was too much. There were some questionable fouls called on Boston which affected the early part of the game. Dolson is known for fouling out and that didn’t happen so the inside game was all Mystics. Samuelson should be a starter along with Smith and Boston and Hull is the ideal replacement for either of them.

You are absolutely right. Christy Sides makes these decisions to show that she's a good coach and in control unfortunately it fails most of the time. What a tragedy because this team is capable of beating many of these teams over and over again but with Christy Sides in the way I don't see it happening. It's unfortunate and unfair not only to the team but to the fans as well.

It was Sides fault because of the starting lineup, AB was outsized by Dolson and Edwards which got AB in to foul trouble fast, Sides was too slow to change. You need another stronger body inside with AB especially early so she doesn’t get out matched then bring in Samuelson as permitted. Sides was hoping to put a smaller faster shooting group out there and it just didn’t work because they don’t have the same chemistry as that group never really played together. They had like 14 first half TOs(Clark 2).

Fever needs a new coach that is is strict on the players, won't let players get away with their sloppy playing. Fever has had chances in almost all of their games so far to actually have won a majority of them. I would say there record should be 14-8 , if they had a coach that knew what they were doing. The players need desclipine, they are all over the place.

Christie sides needs to stick to what’s working and build from that. Not try new things or experiment. They basically on the bottom of making the playoffs, you don’t experiment when you in that position you that when you are higher on the standings with more room to experiment and explore. After all the goal is to make the playoffs ain’t it?…….. also they need to start drawing plays for end game clutch moments using CC and anyone else that has been clutch and consistent and dependable while CC being your option A go to

I don't care if Clark is triple teamed. You design the play around Clark getting the ball. Always. Who gives a shit if the entire arena knows that Clark is getting the ball. Everyone knew Larry Bird was getting the ball too. But guess what? Larry Bird still got the ball. Then Sides PULLS CLARK FROM THE GAME. Wtf? And Smith doesn't start? Imagine wondering why you had so many turnovers in the first quarter, when you completely shake up your starting lineup. This was absolutely terrible coaching, straight up. There's no excuse for Clark to put up a game like that, and get destroyed in 3 out of 4 quarters.

After 20+ games a coach should know who their starting 5 are, who their role players are, when to call a time out and substitution patterns!!!!! She preaches defense, yet i still can't tell you what scheme she's trying to get out of her team, and I've been an assistant in college!!! She still has no 5-10 "Go to" plays. 2 inbound plays that are easily scouted. By now there should be At least 5 with a variation on each one giving you actually 10 looks. I could go on and on with preparation, in game decisions, adjustments etc.!!!! This coach makes $500k to coach with a Jr High level of intelligence. And her boss is just as bad, if not worse for this!

Allow her to get her footing. There is no such thing as a perfect game. If the outside noise stops starting crap then you'll see a better outcome. The loss isn't on. The Fever were giving the game away in the first half: I think eight turnovers? The Fever didn't have that grit/will-to-win in the first half. I turned the game off in the third quarter I was so pissed off. There were no "plays", just CC taking the ball down and passing to somebody...that's a play? Yep, it all falls on the coaching staff, not just Sides. I personally don't think much of the entire Fever coaching staff and I'm a new fan/old baller. Am I wrong?

Caitlin had another monster game (29 points, 13 assists with only 5 TO, 5 rebounds, shooting at 50%, shooting 3 points above 55%, 3 block shoots, and 5 steals). The coach lost another game!

At press time, there's not always enough time to formulate an answer that would be best for the team and an individual player in question. If you didn't know now, you know. I'm not a fever fan. CC played her ass off. But in the end, it's about the team. The team is not always going to be as good as its best player. That takes time. Chemistry and gelling as a winning team takes time. Be patient. And do some of you realize a coaching change halfway into the season could be a season killer more than a season recovered. Chill. Sides didn't make 23 turnovers and play horrible defense. What is she supposed to do? Sit all there asses down. A coach is on the bench being patient and confident that the team will correct itself. Thats showing confidence in them.They showed her that in past games. She knows things are not going to always go your way. She's a coach. Respect that. She's human. Respect that more!

Sides is clueless. This isn't the first time, that with the game on the line, Sides called on someone other than Caitlin to take the shot. I honestly think that by not going to Caitlin, Sides thinks she is being tricky. She only outsmarts herself. ...and WT*! Why does Sides pull Clark on defense? Clark had 5 steals and 3 blocked shots today and she gets many defensive rebounds. Clark is not a weak link defensively and by putting her on the bench you alter her flow of the game. If this were a men's league and Sides were a man, she would have been fired weeks ago. There is NOTHING in her resume that justifies her continued employment.

Now she's got 5 steals and 3 blocks in one game. It simply doesn't compute to Sides: how can ANYONE do this stuff?! It's like she's actually as good as 'her lunatic fans' say she is. Etc. The starting lineup was fine. Her making it patty cake, spin the bottle, in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. When she finally put in Lexie Hull again in the 4th, she made an enormous impact. The problem is she didn't stick to the change, and started swapping players in and out like a crazy person.
When you have a weapon like CC, you need a good coach for the team.

On this team, the assisant coaches need to tell the coach what is happening in the game. For example, Kelsey is 0-8 from 3; maybe we don't want her taking the last shot; or CC has 5 steals, maybe she should be in the game to try to steal a pass. Even before the game, did anybody say: we just beat the number 1 team, do we really want to change the starting line-up.

It was funny that during the last Fever possession, the commentator said that Indiana practices situational offense often. Then Sides didn't give Clark the ball for the shot.
With stats like CC had , they should have had this game in the bag.

they didn't asked why did Sides call a freaking Time Out when the Fever was on 6 - 0 run ... why? that killed the fever's momentum and allowed the mystics to reset/regroup. And why didn't she call a time out when the mystics were on a 9- 0 run and a 12-2 run. This Coach is Horrible. and the last play she drew up for player who was 0 -9 from 3 in the last seconds of the game ... this coach is bad. CC made the game look close, without her, the Fever would've been blown out in a major lopsided lost.

Coach Sides line up change was atrocious...she lost the game...coach cant call a time out when other team is on a run
Good coaches don’t have teams coming out flat after a big win. Then the adjustment is to replace 6’3” Samuelson with 5’8” Wheeler. Wheeler should almost never be in there. Clark almost willed the team to a win but down 21 was too much. There were some questionable fouls called on Boston which affected the early part of the game. Dolson is known for fouling out and that didn’t happen so the inside game was all Mystics. Samuelson should be a starter along with Smith and Boston and Hull is the ideal replacement for either of them.

You are absolutely right. Christy Sides makes these decisions to show that she's a good coach and in control unfortunately it fails most of the time. What a tragedy because this team is capable of beating many of these teams over and over again but with Christy Sides in the way I don't see it happening. It's unfortunate and unfair not only to the team but to the fans as well.

Caitlin plays in the moment…they needed point…but first need the ball…hence steal it. Not sure what moment Sides is playing in. Play fast and win. Slow it down an lob the ball…lose.
everyone is aghast that Indiana Fever Owners and management continue to remain silent on the constant criticism on coaching moves by Christie Sides. What the hell is she doing? is she deliberately trying to lose and if so , why? She has the most talented baller in wnba and she doesn't utilize the maximum of that talent.

It was Sides fault because of the starting lineup, AB was outsized by Dolson and Edwards which got AB in to foul trouble fast, Sides was too slow to change. You need another stronger body inside with AB especially early so she doesn’t get out matched then bring in Samuelson as permitted. Sides was hoping to put a smaller faster shooting group out there and it just didn’t work because they don’t have the same chemistry as that group never really played together. They had like 14 first half TOs(Clark 2).

Agree. Samuelson was a mess. Completely out-of-sync. And a veritable turnover machine.
I have wanted to give Sides the benefit of doubt. First off did the Ref`s help the opposing team? After reading of the lack of timeous at a proper time and substitutions I just think that Sides needs more Coaching experience.

That's basically coach speak for someone needed to be sent a message that their attitude needs to change, something happened that is staying in the locker room, etc. Was it worth it? Time will tell.
She wants to prove that it’s her coaching why they win these games and not CC. But she is failing horribly.

When Christie Sides tries to be a coach they lose. She doesn’t know how to run a winning offense two games in a row. She tries to fix things that are not broken and broken things she will not fix.
Until they get rid of Sides nothing is going to change
This is the kind of loss that costs people jobs.
Fever needs a new coach that is is strict on the players, won't let players get away with their sloppy playing. Fever has had chances in almost all of their games so far to actually have won a majority of them. I would say there record should be 14-8 , if they had a coach that knew what they were doing. The players need desclipine, they are all over the place.
Christie sides needs to stick to what’s working and build from that. Not try new things or experiment. They basically on the bottom of making the playoffs, you don’t experiment when you in that position you that when you are higher on the standings with more room to experiment and explore. After all the goal is to make the playoffs ain’t it?…….. also they need to start drawing plays for end game clutch moments using CC and anyone else that has been clutch and consistent and dependable while CC being your option A go to

My wife and I went to this game today. Hull played great defense today. She hustled and produced some turnovers. Unfortunately, the Fever had all kinds of turnovers by comparison.

When something works you KEEP doing it. When something doesn't work you STOP doing it. Christie Sides always does THE OPPOSITE of this.
CC gets it. She is a team player and that includes loyalty to the coach and the game plan. It seems to me people need to sthu and let them play. The last things these kids need is the fans vitriolic diatribes. It's so damned distracting.
I don't care if Clark is triple teamed. You design the play around Clark getting the ball. Always. Who gives a shit if the entire arena knows that Clark is getting the ball. Everyone knew Larry Bird was getting the ball too. But guess what? Larry Bird still got the ball. Then Sides PULLS CLARK FROM THE GAME. Wtf? And Smith doesn't start? Imagine wondering why you had so many turnovers in the first quarter, when you completely shake up your starting lineup. This was absolutely terrible coaching, straight up. There's no excuse for Clark to put up a game like that, and get destroyed in 3 out of 4 quarters.

Kelsey Mitchell needs to practice MAKING SHOTS! Christie Sides is NO COACH. At least she isn’t blaming a player. It lays with the coach. Just let Caitlin coach…SHE knows what she’s doing. Christie is not good enough to be coaching in the WNBA. No, Kelsey isn’t doing her best. “I don’t make the decisions regarding who’s on the floor…” yep. Sides does…and, AGAIN, she blew it! No matter when, where, how, who or why…Sides will screw this team over. Caitlin HAS to use her Voice and be a leader! Sides ISN’T
After 20+ games a coach should know who their starting 5 are, who their role players are, when to call a time out and substitution patterns!!!!! She preaches defense, yet i still can't tell you what scheme she's trying to get out of her team, and I've been an assistant in college!!! She still has no 5-10 "Go to" plays. 2 inbound plays that are easily scouted. By now there should be At least 5 with a variation on each one giving you actually 10 looks. I could go on and on with preparation, in game decisions, adjustments etc.!!!! This coach makes $500k to coach with a Jr High level of intelligence. And her boss is just as bad, if not worse for this!

When I read these comments, I see why she didn't answer questions because she knows that no matter what she does, yall are going to complain. How about yall let her coach without yall complaining. Allow her to get her footing. There is no such thing as a perfect game. If the outside noise stops starting crap then you'll see a better outcome. The loss isn't on. Just the coach is on the players as well.
Her in game subs are very confusing, too say the least!! The Coaching and Staff are Subpar and need let go!! The last min of the game has happened several times this yr!! All LOSSES!!

Sides got the memo. She's following directives to supress CC22. She thought Phoenix or New York will beat them, so, she let CC22 loose. Then, she thought they can beat the Mystique, so, she used their second team.
Herb Simon needs to have a serious chat with Sides, and what her employment plans will be moving forward!
The Fever were giving the game away in the first half: I think eight turnovers? The Fever didn't have that grit/will-to-win in the first half. I turned the game off in the third quarter I was so pissed off. There were no "plays", just CC taking the ball down and passing to somebody...that's a play? Yep, it all falls on the coaching staff, not just Sides. I personally don't think much of the entire Fever coaching staff and I'm a new fan/old baller. Am I wrong?
